SlingPlayer Beta for BlackBerry coming to North America on December 30th

Good news for those with a SlingBox! Sling Media has announced that they will be holding public beta for BlackBerry users in North America starting December 30, 2008. SlingPlayer allows you to control your TV and DVR (Digital Video Recorder) right from your BlackBerry or computer. In Canada the software will only be available for clients with a Wi-Fi BlackBerry on Rogers such as Curve 8320, Curve 8900, Pearl 8120, Pearl Flip 8220, 8820 or Bold. In the United States you will see it available on T-Mobile for the Pearl Flip 8220 and Curve 8320. You will also be able to find it in the United States on AT&T to support their Curve 8320, Pearl 8120, 8820 and Bold. So go get signed up if your have a Slingbox and check it out!

Rogers Pearl Flips get ready to go on sale!

Rogers is expected to start shipping the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 today. The latest word is that it should be in stores for Halloween day. Pricing has been rumored to start anywhere from $49 and stop at $149 depending on rebates (with three year contract). The Pearl Flip will be available in both Black or Pink at launch. With any luck maybe they will pick up a the red or silver ones as well.

As well Rogers should be close to launching the Wi-Fi/UMA BlackBerry Curve 8320. Dummies arrived in store for it as well.

NII Holdings has announced they will bring RIM’s new PTT enabled BlackBerry Curve 8350i to Latin America in 2009. Another BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin) Video

Mobile Syrup managed to get their hands on a pre-production BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin). This second edition Curve is expected to hit Rogers later this year or early 2009. Check out their video review and see what they think of this hot new Curve.

The Curve 8900 features OS 4.7 similar to the BlackBerry Bold, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Wi-Fi, large high resolution 480×360 display and GPS. Basically its a smaller verison of the Bold without the 3G part. Enjoy the video!

T-Mobile Curve 8320 gets updated to OS 4.5

T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi packing BlackBerry Curve 8320 has finally been updated to OS 4.5.0.81. Most carriers have already updated their devices to 4.5 this is one of the last. Starting today any T-Mobile USA client can download OS 4.5 from BlackBerry.com. It took them long enough but its finally here.

BlackBerry Javelin 8900 gets reviewed

First it was a unreleased BlackBerry Bold, now its a unreleased BlackBerry Javlein that the folks over at CrackBerry got their hands on. The BlackBerry Javelin will be pretty much the Curve replacement. It will not be a 3G smartphone, but will sport a 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, 256MB onboard internal memory, micro USB connection, high resolution display, Wi-Fi and a much thinner design. Read More

Rogers to get Wi-Fi BlackBerry Curve 8320 + Plans

Rogers is getting ready to launch the Wi-Fi packing BlackBerry Curve 8320 in Dark Blue. This new Curve will launch later this month for $149.99 with three year contract. Also Rogers will be releasing new data plans starting soon. Prices for the new data plans start at $15 for unlimited email and IM and go all the way up to $60 for 3GB of data.
