An article posted by Reuters today says that Verizon announced during a webcast that they will carrying several new smartphones within the next six months. The list included the BlackBerry Storm 2, which is expceted to feature a new generation touch screen from RIM, as well the Palm Pre, several Android powered smartphones and the highly anticipated BlackBerry Tour 9630. verizon_bbstorm2_may20200938

The lucky peeps at Engadget got their hands on the unreleased BlackBerry Storm 2. In case you missed the leakage last week the Storm 2 is rumored to be launching soon, with a couple hot new features. The Storm 2 will come to Verizon sometime this year sporitng a new TruePress display which won’t click like the current Storm, but rather be more like the iPhone’s touch screen. Not only that but this hot new device should feature Wi-Fi. Unfourtantly Engadget wasn’t able to fully test the unit due to software restrictions, but I’m sure we will see more hands-on actual soon enough. Here is some of their pictures to see all the other ones head over to Engadget.

BlackBerry Storm 2 launching on Verizon… very soon?

blackberry-storm-2-4

Here’s an interesting BlackBerry rumor for the day. BGR is reporting that Verizon may be getting ready to launch the Storm 2 as early as this month. This rumor seems to have angred a lot of readers and rightfully so. The tipster at BGR claims that intel shows Verizon either has or will start training staff for the Storm 2 ASAP wiht a launch either sometime this month or June at the latest. What do you think about this? Does it make sense for Verizon to launch another Storm so soon? We don’t think so here but who knows it wouldn’t be the first stupid thing Verizon has done.

Verizon’s upcoming BlackBerry Releases: Pearl Flip 8230, Tour 9630, Wi-Fi models and more…

bgr-niagarareview2

BGR scored some great tips about upcoming launches on Verizon Wireless for BlackBerry devices. Apparently the Pearl Flip 8230 will be launching almost anytime (June at the latest) followed by the BlackBerry Tour 9630. The tipster also claims that (take a deep breath) Verizon will be launching another model to go along with the 9630 called Atlas, which will feature Wi-Fi. We aren’t too sure on that rumor yet but stay tuned. Apparently any BlackBerry models launched after the Tour (see Storm 2) will include Wi-Fi. The Storm 2, which has been floating around the internet will apparently feature Wi-Fi as well, plus some sort of new touch screen (most likely still with some clicking to it). Watch out for more details as they arrive…

BlackBerry Tour 9630 shows up in Verizon Inventory…

blackberry-tour-verizon

Looks like Verizon will jump on board with Bell and TELUS with the inventory leaks. The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is now listed in Verizon’s inventory database as “BB9630TR” which means its just one step closer to release! Anyway that’s all that we know so far, but its certainly good news for Verizon customers who has been patiently waiting. Now sit back while we try and get some official launch dates on the go…

Did Storm OS 4.7.0.141 Fail Internal Testing? Most likely.

verizon-logo

Late last month it was rumored that Verizon was getting ready to launch OS 4.7.0.141 for the BlackBerry Storm. Latest word on the block is that the OS actually failed testing by the Big Red (aka Verizon). Apparently .141 was full of little bugs and too many glitches still occur. Last thing we heard is that RIM will not be releasing anymore 4.7 releases for carriers to test because their getting ready for OS 5.0 roll out. So looks like Verizon customers might be stuck loading on leaked OS’ until an official one comes. Stay tuned for more details…

Now it hasn’t only been BGR to confirm this rumor but a well known ninja on HowardForums has also confirmed this date. So either way we know its coming to Verizon and its only a matter of time so please be patient.

BlackBerry Storm 2 with Wi-Fi coming to Verizon this September?

blackberry-storm-sidebyside

Honestly I can not see them upgrading the Storm just yet when they haven’t even perfected the current one. A new rumor is floating around (via Slashgear) that RIM and Verizon will be launching the BlackBerry Storm 2 later this year with Wi-Fi capabilities. It’s no lie that both RIM and its parterned carriers have been tormented because of the lack of Wi-FI but I just can not see them putting a CDMA + GSM + Wi-Fi into the same unit. It just sounds fishy. Anyway take this rumor with a grain of salt but it might be nice if it were true.
