Verizon’s Storm 9530 OS 4.7.0148 Now Available Online!

In case you missed it Verizon launched an official OS update for the Storm 9530 last week. Previously you were only able to download the update via BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but as of today its available on Verizon’s download page. The latest OS to be released by Verizon is OS 4.7.0.148 and so far we have heard some very positive reviews regarding this update. So if you feel like checking it out follow the link below and install it. Keep in mind any carrier’s 9530 can run this OS and you have to do is remove the vendor.xml file.

Verizon to launch BlackBerry Tour, Storm 2, Pre & others within 6 months…

An article posted by Reuters today says that Verizon announced during a webcast that they will carrying several new smartphones within the next six months. The list included the BlackBerry Storm 2, which is expceted to feature a new generation touch screen from RIM, as well the Palm Pre, several Android powered smartphones and the highly anticipated BlackBerry Tour 9630. So it looks like we might just see the next generation Storm in time for Christmas of this year!

“Over the next six months or so you will see devices like Palm Pre and a second generation Storm” on the Verizon Wireless network, McAdam said. “You can expect to see us launch a steady stream of new devices from multiple vendors.”

BlackBerry Curve 8900 launches on AT&T: May 22nd for $199

Gosh it seems like forever (October 08′) since we first saw Gizmodo’s photo of an AT&T branded Curve 8900. Tons of rumors later AT&T officially announced the release of the new Curve. According to them it will launch this Friday (May 22nd) for $199 with two year term. Keep your eyes peeled to AT&T’s website for the official launch. Any AT&T customers out there finally happy to be getting a piece of the “Javelin” action??

BlackBerry Tour 9630 hitting Verizon – Week of July 13th!!

Warning! Before reading this keep in mind that the dates may change. Boy Genius Report claims several ninjas have reported that Verizon will be launching the BlackBerry 9630 Tour during the week of July 13th. Now it hasn’t only been BGR to confirm this rumor but a well known ninja on HowardForums has also confirmed this date. So either way we know its coming to Verizon and its only a matter of time so please be patient.

Meanwhile if any ninjas out there could confirm some Canadian release dates for the 9630 that would be awesome!

Alltel to release BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 “Early May”

It’s been floating around in Canada for a while now, but looks like the United States is about to get their hands on the CDMA Pearl Flip. Alltel has announced that they will releasing the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 sometime “Early May” which means it could come as early as next week! Pricing is expected to be around $79.99 with two year term with a voice and data plan. With the Alltel getting purchased by Verizon does this mean they will also see the Pearl Flip? Stay tuned. Palm Pre gets hands on treatment from BGR

Even though this usually is stricly a BlackBerry blog from time to time we do talk about some of the other smartphones hitting the market. The BGR team is on location of CTIA 2009 and they got a little hands on time with the upcoming Palm Pre smartphone. The Pre is Palm’s next generation device running an all new OS with a sweet curved body making it similar to the iPhone. The Pre features some really interesting things such as Touchstone, the wireless charging pod. Sprint is getting ready to launch this bad boy in the United States very soon so enjoy Boy Genius Report’s quick photo shoot for now…

Leaked: Official T-Mobile pricing for BlackBerry Curve 8900 {Updated}

It appears that T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Curve 8900 is getting even closer! T-Mobile will be launching it very soon, and now we have leaked pricing information. The Curve 8900 (previously called Javelin) will run you about $149.99 with two year term, $249.99 with one year or $649.99 without contract. Apparently the pricing was double confirmed when tipsters checked out Best Buy’s inventory system which shows the no contract price at $649.99 as well. So T-Mobile clients get ready! Your new Curve 8900 should be here soon…

Verizon Storm pricing revealed? or copied form 8830?

Verizon has a test site known as “testman” which previews different parts of the website before its officially updated online. Well if you take a peak over at the site it seems that they have put the BlackBerry Storm on the site and have all the pricing ready.

Here is a breakdown of what the prices are currently showing on the VZW site. One thing we should note is that even though it says BlackBerry 9530 World Edition at the top the description does talk about the 8830 World Edition and if you look at the pricing for the 8830 its exactly the same.

$219.99 with two year contract
$289.99 with one year contract
$519.99 with no contract / month to month

So this is looking good for a release very very soon. Stay tuned for an official announcement from Big Red aka Verizon soon.
