Here it is folks! The TELUS BlackBerry Storm media kit. Earlier today TELUS updated their promo page at telusmobility.com/storm to add some new media images and a 360 degree video which you can see below. Basically no official release dates or pricing are announced just yet. Simply just some new views of a TELUS branded Storm 9530.
Boy Genius plans to keep everyone jumpy until WES 2009. Seems BG got a tip that RIM is working on a Storm-like Bold-like design. Apparently RIM will be showing off at WES 2009 (I know its a long ways away) this new touch screen model which is similar to the Bold and upcoming Curve 8900 (Javelin). It will compete directly with Palm’s touch screen models. So because this is very early information no official codename or model is known. Check out his mock up of this Treo Berry like device. Now I guess its time to sit back and wait for more details…
Vodafone has launched an interactive guide for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. One thing I noticed which I haven’t seen before is RIM is calling their Haptic feedback technology ClickThrough and also the Storm will support up to 16GB microSD memory cards (not 8GB!). Read the full story
Continuing Boy Genius’ BlackBerry Storm leaks today he has posted a complete user guide for the Storm. The guide will show you small details that you may have missed yesterday with the internal documents. This guide also shows you how to use OS 4.7’s touch interface and features.
As I am posting this it seems BG’s server is up and down because we can’t access his site. We have posted most of the pages here but stay tuned and keep checking his site for more.
Boy Genius has posted an everything you would want to know about the BlackBerry Storm 9530. You can check out all the slides but here is a quick run down… As you may or may not know the Storm will feature a revolutionary touch screen that clicks when pressed down. It will also feature a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, high resolution 3.25″ display, both full QWERTY and Suretype touch keyboards and Assisted GPS (which provides your location faster). These slides also show details on how to type and use the Storm (and OS 4.7).
Vodafone has launched their coming soon page with a pre-register to get notified when the Storm is released. Not only that but you can also register to win yourself a shinny new Storm 9500 from them. Although it doesn’t state it I would think this contest is open to residents of the U.K. only.
Kevin Bryne from CrackBerry Forums seems to have all the right info regarding the BlackBerry Storm and Verizon. Here are some new screen shots showing off the Storm’s touch screen controls, Suretype mode and homescreen icons. One thing you will notice is that you will be able to adjust the Tap Interval, Hover Period and Swipe Sensitivity for the touch screen.
It seems a training schedule for Verizon has been leaked on to the internet. Two of the modules shown include the BlackBerry Storm 9530 and HTC Diamond. If you notice all Storm training must be completed by November 2nd and the Diamond not until December 3rd. This could mean that the Early November release date we have all heard about is true…
Thanks to the latest round of spy shots, those of you who were concerned you wouldn’t be able to get your hands on a BlackBerry Storm unless you went to Big Red (aka Verizon) have been saved. Apparently RIM will be releasing a European only model of the Storm with GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA only. This model will be simply just BlackBerry Storm 9500. Check the full specs of the 9500: Read the full story
So the question this morning for Canadians is who will be launching the BlackBerry Storm 9530 first? Rumors over night claim Bell will have a 6 month exclusivity on it, however we don’t think that is true.
BlackBerryNews is reporting that they received a tip from a reliable source saying “Bell Mobility will be in fact releasing the Storm in mid Q4/early Q1. Also it will be exclusive for 6 months to the Bell system. So Telus will have to wait.“
After hearing of this we checked with several sources, which have helped us in the past with Telus’ launches. They claim that Bell has no exclusivity on the Storm and that Telus should be releasing it just in time for Christmas or shortly after Verizon. Furthermore they can’t confirm that Bell will even be getting the device at all.Read the full story
