NinjaThemes has some bright and colorful themes, this one is outstanding as well. It has a look reminiscent of Tron or some space movie. And while Linear is available in the BlackBerry Sync Store in purple, I had the privilege of trying it out in Gold.

I always look forward to NinjaThemes new additions, they are colorful and don’t use a lot of memory. And there are NinjaThemes faves, such as Tweme, that many BlackBerry owners have come to love and adore. Linear is just as creative, and is available in the BlackBerry Sync Store for $1.99 in purple. A battery pull is strongly recommended after installation of themes.

I installed Linear on my BlackBerry Tour 9630. After installation, I did the battery pull. The theme installed easily and as you can see by the pictures it has linear designs that almost remind me of a space landscape with a vortex and stars along the horizon. It has a designated weather spot for your weather icon. I use berryweather, but the weather app is not included, so you must have your own, of whichever you prefer.

On the top of the screen you see the alarm icon, the time in the top left, and date and day in the middle. The weather icon sits in the top right. Below the time sits the profile icon. In the bottom you have six separate icons you may customize. On the far left bottom sits the battery meter, the GPS icon to the right, and the network and bars in the far bottom right. When you click the options button you have the icons that sit in front of the landscape as though they are on a clear poster board or on a veil before the landscape. Indicators show clearly and work great.

Click on messages and the one you highlight is gold. Clicking the options button brings up a black menu and highlights in gold the one you highlight on. I did give pictures so that you can view the icons and what they appear like. I love the way the icons have been given some personality as well.

If you like themes, you won’t want to miss out on this one. The one currently in the store is purple, but as you can see, more colors are on the way. This theme to me says 3D, it says vision, and it says infinity. It’s a perfect compliment to your BlackBerry.

MMMOOO has released a few new themes for the BlackBerry Tour, one of which I’m highlighting. It’s the Snow Leopard 9600. The theme is colorful, brilliant and resembles the iPhone, with that Alaskan feel of the aurora borealis and the eagle stamps.  I love the star splashed sky and the icons how neatly they are arranged.

The theme displays the apple icon, time, date, coverage indicator, battery, and bars. The icons are changed slightly and are very appealing. The top bar appears in grey. The premium theme is available for $5.99, and is quite colorful.

Bla1ze from CrackBerry pointed out a hot new BlackBerry theme for the Bold 9000. It’s a free theme called “E2 Today” and features 15 icons with a beautiful dark background. It’s Premium Theme Time! This week Elecite has introduced Noble, a high resolution theme for the BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900 and Storm. Noble has been designed for every day use and features 3 icons at the top (media, clock and messages) along with 2 up and down arrows at the bottom. Not only that but you get 3D customizable icons (8 for the Bold and 9 for 8900 and Storm). This is truly one of the nicest themes I’ve seen come out of the Elecite labs in recent memory.

You finally find a theme you like, one you have to have, and you’re ready to install it. I remember when I found the Matrix, I was so thrilled! There are different types of themes out there.  I’m going to go through the ways of installing two types of themes: OTA and as a zip through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager via the PC.  The very first and easiest type of file is one that is called OTA or Over The Air. You can follow a link by text or go to a website that offers themes, or even by email and download the theme. For good measure after it’s downloaded and installed, I do a battery pull and then I go to Options>Theme and from there I scroll to my new theme and I tap the trackball. Start to back up, and it will take some time as the theme starts.

The next type of file you can install is a zip that you download to be loaded and installed through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. This is a file you saved on your pc. Unzip the file or allow windows to open and extract the files for you. So you have the file you want to install, so now you plug your BlackBerry in by the usb cable and you bring up your BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You will choose the Application Loader. When this comes up you are going to choose Add/Remove Applications. It’s going to read your phone and check your device,  then it’s going to search for software. You can check your file if it appears in the list, if not you are going to choose Browse and find your file. It will be the name of the file.alx. Once you find it, choose it and hit Next and install. Again, after installing and the BlackBerry Desktop Manager is finished, disconnect through the Safely Remove Hardware and unplug your phone. Again, I do a battery pull just to help the phone set. Finding the theme will be the same process.
