BlackBerry Storm OS 5.0.0.230 Comes out from Hiding!

Storm users have been living with the last leak (5.0.0.191) and having to deal with not having a functional camera or video camera, only hoping and praying for another OS that will fix this issue. Well it appears the folks at BlackBerry OS has gotten their hands on 5.0.0.230 for the 9530. The good news is that this new .230 version fixes the camera and video camera issue. Last time BlackberryOS showed the .191 images for the Storm and Tour, it was not to far before they leaked the link to download them. Could this happen with this OS as well? Lets hope so!

OS Alert: OS 5.0.0.191 Gets Leaked for BlackBerry Tour 9630!

It hasn’t been too long since we got to see the hands on preview of .191 OS for the BlackBerry Tour. This new unreleased OS features several new features including threaded SMS, theme previewer, vibrate and ring at the same time, new applications list, and shows 3G instead of 1XEV. Before installing please remember that this OS is NOT official, and has been leaked. We can not verify how stable this OS is as of yet. If you have given it a try please post some comments below…

Pre-Warning: Many applications are still not compatible with OS 5.0, including RIM apps such as Facebook, Windows Live, Google Talk, App World, etc. Also you will need to remove the “RIM Internal Apps” from your computer before installing this OS on your device. If you don’t RIM might know what you’re doing.

A New Round of OS 5.0 leaks! Including BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900, Storm 9530, and Tour 9630!

Like myself I’m sure we’ve all been waiting for a new round of OS 5.0 leaks… Well today I’m proud to announce that new OS’ have been leaked for the BlackBerry Bold 9000, Curve 8900, Storm 9530 and Tour 9630!! This is the first leak we’ve seen for the BlackBerry Tour and we’ve glad its finally here. Apparently this Tour OS (.140) is old and buggy now, so as much as you might want to install it, maybe wait for a newer version. The leaked OS for the Curve 8900 and Bold (.190) are brand new and freshly released internally. Apparently .190 for both the Bold and Curve 8900 sport the new threaded SMS feature!

Follow the links below to download any of the OS versions, however please remember these OS’ have NOT been officially released by RIM. Many applications may not work on your device, it’s recommended you do a full backup before installing.

T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9700 Spotted in an Airport?

CrackBerry Kevin has got some serious luck. Back before the Curve 8900 was released he managed to spot three of them in an Airport in NYC, while traveling. This time around Kevin managed to spot a T-Mobile branded BlackBerry 9700 on his way home from vacation. Seriously? That’s some luck. Anyway as you can see the T-Mobile branded 9700 is running on OS 5.0.0.169. Kevin says the device feels very solid and production ready… Maybe that means we will see a launch very soon? Stay tuned.

OS 5.0.0.140 gets leaked for BlackBerry Storm 9530!!

Woot! I think this is the first official OS 5.0 leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9530. Please note that this is beta software, and was not intended for release just yet. It’s recommended that you complete a full backup before proceeding with the install. To install this software you must un-zip the file. If you are asked for the password its “raysource”.

The Hot New BlackBerry Messenger will be standard on all OS 5.0 devices!

This new BlackBerry messenger application has got me drooling! The folks over at BGR have gotten their hands on an even newer build of OS 5.0 for the Curve 8900. Apparently the any devices running OS 5.0 will be able to get the update! It’s expected that many current devices including BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Storm 95xx, and maybe even Pearl Flip series will get access to OS 5.0 when its launched. SureType coming to Full QWERTY BlackBerry smartphones in OS 5.0?

Something interesting was found in the latest leak of OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Bold. OS version 5.0.0.110 seems to be packing an interesting feature. It appears RIM might be planning to put their popular SureType predictive text system into their full QWERTY BlackBerry models such as Bold, and possibly even the Tour? Previously SureType was only found on the Pearl family and the Storm. RIM’s SureType system basically allows you to press less keys to highlight you most commonly used words. It’s been a while since we saw the last leaked releases of OS 5.0 for any device, but today a new version was leaked for the Bold and 8900. Thanks to the folks over at CrackBerry for un-earthing OS 5.0.0.100 for the Bold and 8900. It’s expected that OS 5.0 will release soon for most current devices, however we are yet to see a 5.0 leak for the Storm or any other models. Anyway if you want to give this leaked OS another shot download it from the links below. Please keep in mind that this OS has not been officially released yet. Be sure to do backups before installing on your device.

BlackBerry JDE 5.0 Beta is Now Available for Download

Great news for developers out there! RIM has just released the BlackBerry Java Development Enviroment (JDE) Beta 5.0 for download. This means developers can start developing new apps for RIM’s upcoming OS 5.0 for many of their devices. With the release of this software that usually means that the official OS 5.0 releases are just around the corner.Anyway if you want to download it and check it out head over to BlackBerry.com.

Did Storm OS 4.7.0.141 Fail Internal Testing? Most likely.

Late last month it was rumored that Verizon was getting ready to launch OS 4.7.0.141 for the BlackBerry Storm. Latest word on the block is that the OS actually failed testing by the Big Red (aka Verizon). Apparently .141 was full of little bugs and too many glitches still occur. Last thing we heard is that RIM will not be releasing anymore 4.7 releases for carriers to test because their getting ready for OS 5.0 roll out. So looks like Verizon customers might be stuck loading on leaked OS’ until an official one comes. Stay tuned for more details…
