This is an official OS release, not beta therefore simply just install it, remove the vendor.xml file and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and your good from there! Enjoy!

Storm 9530 OS 4.7.0.99 leaked online!!

storm99landscape

As always it seems that a leaked Storm OS comes at least once a week. Kevin from CrackBerry caught OS 4.7.0.99 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530. We aren’t too sure what this new OS brings to the table just yet, but keep in mind it has not been officially released by RIM and is not recommended for install unless you know what your doing. Be sure to make an extra backup before proceeding. Anyways keep an eye out for a Storm 9500 coming soon too!

Once you install it be sure to let us know what you think by posting in the comments…

Vodafone BlackBerry Storm OS 4.7.0.78 now available!

Good news for Vodafone BlackBerry Storm owners! Vodafone has officially released their first OS upgrade for the Storm. The new version OS 4.7.0.78 is a huge improvement over the version that shipped with the device. To download the update simply head over to Vodafone’s site and install the software. Next up should be Verizon’s OS update possibly later on today?

Bell releases Storm OS 4.7.0.76? but forgets to release device.

I know your probably thinking how and why? but apparently earlier today RIM released Bell’s version of OS 4.7.0.76 for the BlackBerry Storm by accident. This is great news thought as the OS version is higher than Verizon’s current OS. At the time of this post it seems that RIM has removed the link but we’ve got pics any with any luck an official release is just around the corner…

Check out Viigo on the BlackBerry Storm

If your not using Viigo you don’t know what you missing! Viigo has been a long time favorite application for me and now we get to see a preview of what Viigo will look like on RIM’s new touchscreen BlackBerry Storm. This is the first third party application we have seen for the Storm as of now and it looks sweet! I can’t wait to get my hands on a Storm and this app!!

Even more BlackBerry Storm screen shots!!

Kevin Bryne from CrackBerry Forums seems to have all the right info regarding the BlackBerry Storm and Verizon. Here are some new screen shots showing off the Storm’s touch screen controls, Suretype mode and homescreen icons. One thing you will notice is that you will be able to adjust the Tap Interval, Hover Period and Swipe Sensitivity for the touch screen.

BlackBerry Javelin 8900 will feature OS 4.7

So most of you are still rocking RIM’s OS 4.5 and lower (unless you got your hands on a Bold, then you have 4.6). BBCool is reporting that RIM’s next up BlackBerry Javelin, which is the Curve replacement will be running OS 4.7. This new version of RIM’s OS will look a lot like the BlackBerry Bold’s OS, however its expected to give support for 16GB Micro SD cards and an updated version of the full HTML browser. The new browser should fix all errors users are currently having when browsing sites loaded with Javascripts.

OS 4.7 should make its debut on RIM’s first touchscreen smartphone, the BlackBerry Thunder/Storm later this year as well.
