We just got word from Susan about the email alert sent out. Verizon has officially launched OS 4.7.1.53 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630. This is the first official update from Verizon and RIM for the Tour. We haven’t tried this update overselves yet, but some of you may have tried it out recently as it was leaked on to the internet. Anything can be better than the stock .40 found on the Tour’s Worldwide. Hopefully next up will be OS 5.0!

We just got word that OS 4.7.1.42 has been leaked for the BlackBerry Tour. If you remember, a few weeks ago we heard .42 was the stable OS that Verizon was planning to launch. This is a RIM internal copy, therefore before installing you must uninstall the RIM internal apps, which gets installed during the installation process. We aren’t sure what .42 fixes yet, however early reports so it DOES stop those annoying screen freezes. If you have installed this OS please post a comment below and let us know how it works…

Vodafone Australia & Fiji have just released a new official OS for the Storm 9500. The version is 4.7.0.148 which is the same version released by Verizon last week for their 9530. This OS (.148) is said to be one of the most stable on the market and possibly the late in the builds that RIM will be releasing. Next up OS 5.0! Anyway if you would like to install this update on your Storm 9500 (GSM only) download the file at the link below and remove the vendor.xml file. Enjoy!

In case you missed it Verizon launched an official OS update for the Storm 9530 last week. Previously you were only able to download the update via BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but as of today its available on Verizon’s download page. The latest OS to be released by Verizon is OS 4.7.0.148 and so far we have heard some very positive reviews regarding this update. So if you feel like checking it out follow the link below and install it. Keep in mind any carrier’s 9530 can run this OS and you have to do is remove the vendor.xml file.

Nothing like kicking off the week with a leaked OS. It seems like its been a while since we saw any leaked software for the BlackBerry Storm 9500, but finally a new leaked one has been found online. The new OS is version 4.7.0.151 and is currently only available for the GSM Storm 9500. If there is any Storm 9530 users out there waiting for .151 to leak stay tuned! It’s just a matter of time. Anyway if you’re a 9500 owner and install this OS let us know how it works by posting a comment below.

It took them long enough but Verizon finally launched an official OS update for their BlackBerry Storm. After testing out several OS versions it seems that Verizon finally feels 4.7.0.148 will have to do. Anyone with a Verizon branded Storm can download this much needed OS update by connecting their BlackBerry into Desktop Manager and clicking the Application Loader or on BlackBerry.com/update. As of now the OS is not listed on Verizon’s BlackBerry software page but it should be soon, so keep an eye on it.

Late last month it was rumored that Verizon was getting ready to launch OS 4.7.0.141 for the BlackBerry Storm. Latest word on the block is that the OS actually failed testing by the Big Red (aka Verizon). Apparently .141 was full of little bugs and too many glitches still occur. Last thing we heard is that RIM will not be releasing anymore 4.7 releases for carriers to test because their getting ready for OS 5.0 roll out. So looks like Verizon customers might be stuck loading on leaked OS’ until an official one comes. Stay tuned for more details…

Vodafone UK has just released OS 4.7.0.141 officially for the GSM BlackBerry Storm 9500. So if you have a Storm 9500 you can install this OS on your device. Apparently it seems to be working great so far! The good news is this is an official OS update directly from RIM. If you would like details on how to install an OS please click here. The hits just keep on coming!! Once again, our good friend Kevin over at CrackBerry has let the world know that you can now download OS 4.7.0.141 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530!  It was only yesterday Telus released their official update, and today we have yet another leaked beta OS!  It’s also less than 24 hours since the same .141 OS was leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. So as per usual, exercise caution when installing this update. This will not be supported by your carrier, and any issues you encounter are your responsibility to resolve.  But the good news is, that’s why we’re here!

Seems it has been a while since a leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. OS 4.7.0.141 has been leaked for the GSM BlackBerry Storm 9500. We don’t recommend you install this OS unless you have previous experience installing beta leaked operating systems. But if you feel like you really want to test out this OS then follow the link below. Please just be sure to do a full backup before installing it. Also word has arrived that RIM will no longer be working on any new OS 4.7 versions for the Storm. Seems RIM is starting to work on OS 5.0 now.
