Those of your on CDMA networks like Verizon, Sprint, Telus or Bell will have to wait a bit longer for this device to launch, but until then here is some hands-on action from CrackBerry. Enjoy!

New Live Pictures of the BlackBerry Niagara 9630!!

Kevin from CrackBerry has just obtained a couple new shots of the un-released CDMA BlackBerry code-named Niagara. If you don’t know about “Niagara” its the Bold/Curve 8900 crossover, which is expected to launch on most CDMA networks in North America later on this year. Finally we got to see the device up close including shots of the back. One thing I’m sad about is they decided not to put the leather back on this like the Bold. Maybe that will change?

First shots of BlackBerry Niagara 9630 – CDMA Bold/Curve 8900 Crossover!

blackberryniagara9630b

CrackBerry has shown us the first live pictures of the heavely rumored BlackBerry Niagara. In case you don’t know what “Niagara” is it’s going to be the CDMA Bold/Curve combonation featuring a CDMA/EVDO Rev. A Radio with 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS and of course a full QWERTY keyboard. Apparently RIM might have cut plans to include Wi-Fi in this bad boy. The Niagara looks to be a mix of both the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900 “Javelin” to swing a bit of both worlds in there.

Two questions: Will RIM call this the Bold 9630? and who wants one even without Wi-Fi?

BlackBerry 9630 will be Niagara, the new Verizon World Edition BlackBerry

blackberryniagara

This one has me excited because I’ve always been a fan of my 8830 World Edition even though its been replaced by several newer models. Boy Genius got new details about the rumored BlackBerry Niagara, which in the past was rumored to be called Bold 9030 or 8930. Well it’s not going to be either according to one of BGR’s sources, the BlackBerry code-named Niagara will be modeled 9630 and seems it will pack tons of stuff except Wi-Fi. The Niagara is gurentueed to be a World Edition BlackBerry featuring CDMA EV-DO with Rev. A, Quad-band GSM with EDGE for roaming, 3.2 megapixel camera (with possibly a camera-less model), and OS 4.7.1 (maybe even 5.0 depending on the release date). Also the browser should be a little more updated to support Javescript 1.6 (that’s a little better)… As for a release date the source could not confirm that but with any luck at all you will see it around May or June on Verizon and possibly a few others? ;-)

Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9030 and Pearl Flip 8230 details…

blackberryniagra

Un-official image of BlackBerry Niagara

News has arrived about Verizon’s upcoming BlackBerry plans. It’s no secret that Verizon will be getting the Pearl Flip soon, however according to Boy Genius the Pearl Flip has been removed from their upcoming device road map. This could mean one of two things, either Verizon has decided not to launch the device (not likely) or that it will be launching VERY soon. But for those that are looking for more of a business device have we got good news for you! Remember the BlackBerry code-named Niagara? Its the cross between the Curve 8900 and Bold 9000. This will be the other device that Verizon will be launching. Niagara is rumored to be called Bold 9030. It will a little bigger than the Curve, however smaller than Bold and will feature a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor with a large high resolution 480×360 display, full QWERTY keyboard, EVDO Rev. A, aGPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, and will run BlackBerry OS 4.6. The only sad news is that Boy Genius does not currently have a release date for either of these devices. Previously the BlackBerry Niagara was rumored to launch sometime around May 2009 (possibly at WES 09?). Stay tuned we will update you when new info becomes available…

Two new CDMA BlackBerry devices for 2009

A very interesting article has arrived that indicates there will be two new CDMA Blackberry devices coming in 2009 (code named Niagara and Apex).

The Niagara is essentially the CDMA version of the Bold, which will have styling similar to the BlackBerry Thunder and will be the next generation of the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition. Apex is the CDMA version of the Pearl Flip 8200 Series (Kickstart) that many GSM carriers (such as T-Mobile, Rogers, etc).

What about BlackBerry Niagara?

Anyone remember the BlackBerry Niagara? It was suppose to be following “Javelin” as a CDMA verison for Verizon for sometime next year. My question is what ever happened to this device? It seems with all the Storm, Javelin and Pearl Flip news lately this one may have slipped under the radar. Read More

Details on BlackBerry “Niagara” get cleared up and meet BlackBerry “Javelin”

BlackBerry Niagara

So remember that 3G-less BlackBerry 9000 we talked about yesterday? Well the rumors has been cleared up. Turns out the "Niagara" is a CDMA EV-DO device which will be seen by Verizon May 2009 (ouch!). The "Niagara" is said to sport EV-DO Rev. A, a large 480×360 LCD, full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, a newer OS (version 4.7) and a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor.

BGR also talks about another new part of the 9000 series called "Javelin" which will be Quad-band GSM with EDGE (no 3G), Wi-Fi, GPS, large 480×460 display, 3.2 megapixel camera, OS 4.6 and will support BES 5.0. "Javelin" will sport a ArgonV processor.

BlackBerry Niagara

Remember the lovely 3G, Wi-Fi packin' BlackBerry 9000 you've seen? Well according to BGR another part of the 9000 series is the BlackBerry code-named "Niagara" which will be the 3G-less version.
