Seems Rogers won’t get RIM’s first BlackBerry flip phone, the BlackBerry Kickstart Pearl 8220 for the once thought price of $50 with contract. The Pearl 8220 will be launching for $149.99 with three year contract. This pricing becomes more inline with their BlackBerry Curve 8310. So whos all up for getting a Pearl 8220?? Check out the pictures:

We've received a tip that the BlackBerry KickStart is getting real close to production. Apparently the KickStart will be finished production in about 2-3 weeks. At launch the KickStart will only be seen on T-Mobile and Rogers Wireless in North America.
This is great news for everyone who has been waiting for the first flip Berry!

Rumor has it that the BlackBerry Kickstart will score a $50 pricetag with contract. While this is not confirmed it would be sweet for T-Mobile to launch it so cheap.

Rumor on the street is that RIM will be re-modeling the upcoming Kickstart and Seawolf models. Originally the BlackBerry Kickstart was thought to be modeled BlackBerry 9100, but now apparently it will be 8220. BlackBerry Seawolf was supposed to be the 9110 and now it looks like it'll be called 8210.
Not only that but BlackBerry Javelin may be modeled 8301 instead of 9300. This would make Javelin the next in the Curve sereis (8300 series).

Details have emerged of upcoming BlackBerry devices. Some of these devices we talked about in the past, one new guy we haven't heard of yet. These code names were found in some device XML files…
Boy Genius caught wind of the BlackBerry Javelin which should be the 3G-less Bold (and part of the 9000 series). Next up is the BlackBerry Storm (aka Thunder) which will be the touch screen BlackBerr and RIM's next CDMA smartphone. Then of course the not so secret BlackBerry Kickstart, a flip phone BlackBerry expected to launch on T-Mobile later this year. Hmm then talk of a model called Seawolf 9110 which BG thinks is the GPS enabled Kickstart for AT&T. Last one he found is a model called Aurora which he feels is just a old prototype maybe even something from the Pearl 8100 series.
Ok so all and all that was BlackBerry Javelin, Storm/Thunder, Kickstart, Seawolf and Aurora. That's a ton of rumors. One thing you may want to notice if you look at the XML file pictured above for the BlackBerry Storm/Thunder it shows Keyboard Type=VIRTUAL booyeah!

CrackBerry got their hands on some exclusive slides showing features and minor details of the upcoming BlackBerry Kickstart. Basically the Kickstart will act just like any other flip phone for calls its the messaging features that set it apart. The Kickstart will of course feature RIM's BlackBerry OS and Suretype QWERTY keyboard for messaging.
Now one of the interesting parts is that the Kickstart will launch with OS 5.0 (possibly even before the BlackBerry Bold gets it? but don't worry you'll be able to upgrade).

Boy Genius thought it would be fun to show off the upcoming BlackBerry Kickstart (BlackBerry 9100) in another color this time. Now that he has another live shot of it wouldn't it be nice to see it next to some other devices? such as a Pearl maybe?

T-Mobile USA's upcoming roadmap shows many new smartphones including the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Kickstart. All devices listed in the roadmap are set to launch between June 16th and August 1st. Dates and pricing are known for 100% but most likely you will see the BlackBerry Bold near the beginning to mid July. We didn't think the Kickstart was coming until at least late August or September but whatever we'll take it.
