Rogers BlackBerry Curve 8520 Spotted in Wild!

rogers-gemini-exc

It seems that Rogers might be launching the Curve 8520 soon than later. The first live picture of a Rogers branded 8520 has been spotted over at BGR. This unit is running OS 4.6.1.274, and appears to have zero physical branding, just the OS boot up screen. Looks like this is the start of things to come… Anyone care to leak out some shots of the Rogers branded Onyx (Bold 9700)??

rogers-9700-inventory

We knew it would come soon than later, but proof the BlackBerry Bold 9700 “Onyx” and Curve 8520 “Gemini” are heading to Rogers has arrived. Boy Genius obtained some screen shots of Rogers’ internal upgrading system, which shows both devices listed. It’s not known when either of the devices will be available, or even pricing at this time. We think both devices should launch late this month or early next… Stay tuned for confirmation.

OtterBox releases BlackBerry Curve 8520 Impact Series Case

rbb1-8500s-20-c5otr

Our friends at OtterBox made a some what quiet product launch this week. OtterBox has just introduced the Impact Series Case for the BlackBerry Curve 8520. Think of the Impact Series to be a enhanced version of RIM’s silicon skin, but with way more protection. The Impact Skin wraps around your Curve leaving only the screen and keyboard open. It’s a great case for those on the go who don’t want to carry a huge case.

Wrap your BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 in this protective silicone case. More than just a simple silicone skin, the Impact™ Series case offers added protection from bump and shock by adding inner coring to dissipate impact away from the device. All buttons, functions, and ports are fully accessible through this case, and it looks great wrapped around your BlackBerry Curve 8520. It includes a self-adhering screen protector to protect your screen from scratches and smudges.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 will have “Out Of Box Mac Compatibility”

curve8520-mac

I just got a great tip via email, that even I didn’t notice. If you head over to RIM’s product page for the newly announced BlackBerry Curve 8520 you’ll notice something quite interesting. It says that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will support Mac computers out of the box. This means that anyone (such as myself) who was been desperately waiting for RIM to release BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac has a smile on their face. If all goes as planned T-Mobile USA should be launching the 8520 around August 5th, meaning we should be able to download DTM for Mac shortly after that. Keep chekcing in for more details when we get ‘em.
