Great news for those in the United States! The BlackBerry Curve 8900, which was previously code-named Javelin has been approved by the FCC. This means that technically the Curve 8900 could go on sale almost any time in the United States. So the next part is to try and guess who will have the Curve 8900 out first - T-Mobile or AT&T?

The Gizmodo team got their hands on a AT&T branded BlackBerry Curve 8900 (aka Javelin) for review. If you check out Gizmodo you will see a bunch of high resolution pictures and a mini review of the the device. This also appears to be the first AT&T branded pictures seen of the Curve 8900. Here’s a quick blurb from their review:
The Bold is more substantial, exuding “executive” to the Curve 8900’s “middle manager” or “normal person.” It’s clearly more powerful, and has a bigger screen. The keyboards are way different, too—personally, I prefer the Bold’s larger, squishier keys to the Curve’s smaller, stiffer ones. But obviously, the biggest thing is 3G. The Bold has it, the Curve 8900 doesn’t, and we missed it sorely.

AT&T’s BlackBerry Bold 9000 is now listed on Best Buy’s website. You can purchase it with no contract for $659.99 USD. At the moment they are currently backordered and expected to ship within one to two weeks. So you can either order one now or just wait for AT&T to launch it officially on November 4th and pick one up then.

As you may have read AT&T held a launch party in New York City the other night and basically didn’t have any Bold’s on hand to actually give out. Instead they gave everyone a I.O.U card to get a Bold at a later date. Anyways Boy Genius seems to have obtained an email stating the latest release date for RIM’s new 3G BlackBerry Bold 9000. It seems the Bold should arrive on October 27th and that the pricing is still unknown.
Apparently the issue that was holding the Bold back from releasing on AT&T has been fixed up and its all good to go! Stay tuned.

Girls (and maybe some guys?) are going to love AT&T’s new designer BlackBerry Pearls! This pink and white colored Pearl 8110 are arriving at some AT&T stores now according to a tipster over at CrackBerry. No word on pricing or when exactly these new colors will be ready but you can expect them soon…

A post popped up yesterday quoting RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis saying that AT&T is still internally testing their 3G BlackBerry Bold 9000 and that it should be ready later this year. Orginally the BlackBerry Bold was suppose to launch on AT&T back in May, however may delays due to issues with signal and battery delayed it. The Bold has made apparences all around the world including now in Canada.
“There’s great scrutiny, as you might know, on that network and a certain device. So I guess everyone wants to be sure on every last test,” said RIM’s co-CEO. So with any luck you guys in the United States should be able to pick up a Bold for at least Christmas (hopefully before).

AT&T must be feeling a little heat from Verizon’s announcement of the first touch screen BlackBerry “Storm”. AT&T has released an internal document that outlines what the iPhone does that the Storm doesn’t. Here’s why they say the iPhone is so much better than the Storm:
- The iPhone uses multi-touch technology / Storm uses haptic feedback technology
- iPhone was Wi-Fi / Storm doesn’t
- iPhone has an app store / Storm doesn’t (maybe coming soon?)
- iPhone syncs with iTunes / Storm will be able too but not as well?
- iPhone users Safari for browsing / Storm uses RIM’s browser
- iPhone is GSM/3G / Storm is CDMA/GSM/Dual band HSDPA

Honestly I really hope not, but the latest report in from a leaked AT&T document shows the BlackBerry Bold ETA is November now. Other news from AT&T on this report shows the new dark blue Curve 8320 will be launching on October 21st, Pink Pearl launches October 2nd, and the Burnt Orange model has be delayed until 2009.
I should point out as well that Boy Genius clearly says he is sticking firm to the October 2nd release date. So Keep checking back for the latest BlackBerry Bold in the United States updates…
