Verizon’s official launch date is tomorrow (November 21st) for the BlackBerry Storm. A ton of unboxing and actual reviews have surfaced.
We will start off with Boy Genius who has both a Vodafone and Verizon BlackBerry Storm in hand. Here is a sniplit from his conclusion “…At the end of the day, if you’ve been eyeing the Storm, we suggest you either go play with a demo unit at a store, or go ahead and buy one. That way you’ll be able to decide for yourself if you really love the thing, or maybe just don’t care for it. This isn’t a cookie-cutter device, and it’s not for everyone. That said, we’re sure these things are going to fly off the shelves at Verizon stores on Friday, we just have a feeling there will also be a lot of returns.” Read the rest of his review here.
Kevin from CrackBerry also got his hands on a Verizon BlackBerry Storm to unbox. He actually flew down to New York to pick this bad boy up (a true addict!). Here is his unboxing video:
Another great review review (over 20 minutes in length) by the folks at MobilityToday.com:
One thing the BBSync team noticed and was kind of disappointed by is the lack of premium headphones in box. I personally was hoping to see headphones similar to the ones found with the BlackBerry Bold. Of course you will be able to purchase them afterwards.
Another week, Another BlackBerry Storm video. This time some lucky person got a change to sit down with a Verizon branded BlackBerry Storm 9530 and do everything to it. The video shows how to take out the battery and use the phone. It’s just another video in the BlackBerry Storm collection. The good news is Verizon customers only have to wait a few more days before they get their hands on one of these bad boys! Enjoy.
Today on the BlackBerry Support Forums RIM released navigation tips and tricks for the BlackBerry Storm. These sheets show you how to copy and paste, panning and scrolling on images and sites and multimedia tricks. These handy little puppies are courtesy of RIM directly. News have arrived that Bell managers received a email last week stating that they would be launching the BlackBerry Storm 9530 shortly after Verizon does. Verizon is expected to launch their Storm on November 21st. The interesting part about the email is that Bell is saying “Bell & Telus will receive the device for sale at the same time.”
Bell requires all BlackBerry Storm quizzes to be cfompleted by December 5th. Therefore this could mean that the Storm will be available on both Canadian carriers around December 8th or so. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer…
Verizon has officially announced the BlackBerry Storm will be available starting November 21st at all corporate and retail channels. The Storm will be priced at $199 with two year contract. Rumor has it Verizon has a mass amount of stock ready to go around.
Now that Verizon has announced the launch of their Storm. Bell and TELUS in Canada can’t be too far behind either…
The Boy Genius has got his hands on a slide from Verizon Wireless. It shows that the BlackBerry Storm 9530 will start launching November 20th for high-value clients then followed by availability for the general public on November 24th. Storm’s will be available in 123 Coporate Verizon stores with apparently a ton on hand.
Pricing still hasn’t been announced, however its expected to be around $199 with two year contract.
Verizon has a test site known as “testman” which previews different parts of the website before its officially updated online. Well if you take a peak over at the site it seems that they have put the BlackBerry Storm on the site and have all the pricing ready.
Here is a breakdown of what the prices are currently showing on the VZW site. One thing we should note is that even though it says BlackBerry 9530 World Edition at the top the description does talk about the 8830 World Edition and if you look at the pricing for the 8830 its exactly the same.
$219.99 with two year contract
$289.99 with one year contract
$519.99 with no contract / month to month
So this is looking good for a release very very soon. Stay tuned for an official announcement from Big Red aka Verizon soon.
Looks like Verizon’s hosting a private sale of the BlackBerry Storm for select customers on November 17th until 21st. Details have been sent to a select amount of customers to pick up the all new Storm for an undisclosed price. We can’t see the release being too far behind for the general public! We want in Verizon. We want in!
RIM has just released a interactive guide called “BlackBerry 101” for the BlackBerry Storm 9530. This guide explains how to use the Storm’s basic features such as calling, messaging, etc. Plus it shows off a little more advanced features such as using the Desktop software to switch devices. Its a pretty handy little guide so check it out!
Another Verizon BlackBerry Storm commercial has arrived. This time one with great simulated screen images to make it look even more amazing. I’m sorry to everyone who getting really sick of all this BlackBerry Storm news but its going to keep on coming :)
