BlackBerry Storm user guide gets leaked!!

Continuing Boy Genius’ BlackBerry Storm leaks today he has posted a complete user guide for the Storm. The guide will show you small details that you may have missed yesterday with the internal documents. This guide also shows you how to use OS 4.7’s touch interface and features.

As I am posting this it seems BG’s server is up and down because we can’t access his site. We have posted most of the pages here but stay tuned and keep checking his site for more.

First look at BlackBerry Application Center

Wow what a crazy weekend this has been for the BlackBerry world. First we’ve seen a ton of leaks for the BlackBerry Storm and now its the BlackBerry Application Center to go along with the Storm. This will be RIM’s shot at Apple’s App Store for their iPhone. You will be able to download tons of applications designed for your BlackBerry Storm with a few simple clicks…

Features list of the BlackBerry Application Center:

  • The Application Center will be available on 4.7 Storm devices and will be designed for the Storm touch screen UI.
  • Carriers will be responsible for hosting the application data and sending updates to the directory to RIM.
  • The main application screen will provide the user with a list of all applications that are available for install from the particular carrier for the specific device model and OS version. Incompatible applications will not be displayed.
  • The main screen will provide the user the ability to quickly browse the application list, then view the available information about each application in a detailed description screen which shows the logo and full description. Installation will occur with one click (launches the web browser).
  • The user will be able to access the Options > Applications screen from within the App Center (allowing the user to delete applications directly from within the App Center).
  • The user will be provided with various status info: date the app list was most recently updated; notification that updates are available; option to reapplication list was completed, etc.
  • Since the download and installation will be handled by the browser in this first release, the Application Center will not be capable of restarting the application / download intelligently.
  • The Application Center will automatically check for updates daily.

Win a BlackBerry Storm from Vodafone!

Vodafone has launched their coming soon page with a pre-register to get notified when the Storm is released. Not only that but you can also register to win yourself a shinny new Storm 9500 from them. Although it doesn’t state it I would think this contest is open to residents of the U.K. only.

Check out their coming soon page to register! >>

New BlackBerry Storm screen shots!!

New screen shots of RIM’s unreleased touch screen BlackBerry Storm. These new shots show features such as the clock application, browser and calendar. I have to say that the keyboards look much better than we have previously seen… I’m also happy to see they kept the full QWERTY in landscape and Suretype in Portrait mode.

So who wants one?? :)

Thanks to the latest round of spy shots, those of you who were concerned you wouldn’t be able to get your hands on a BlackBerry Storm unless you went to Big Red (aka Verizon) have been saved. BlackBerry Thunder/Storm gets caught on video!!

That’s right! It finally happend! The BlackBerry Thunder/Storm got caught on video by some guy called “BrewNinja” (look out Boy Genius! kidding). Anyways we finally get to see the touch screen in action along with the home screen icons. The device is very interesting looking and the guy goes on the say that he doesn’t like it but the keyboard is good. Check out the video (you need to scroll through it a little bit as the guy shows three devices: HTC Coke, LG Lotus and then The Thunder):

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Anyways I’m sure RIM has some improving to do on the unit before its officially released but at least we got to see it!

Edit: Looks like the original video was taken down… Here is another one found on Youtube.

Big thanks to Kevin @ CrackBerry for posting this.
