BeBuzz by Bellshare GmbH was previously named BerryBuzz. It’s been my favorite alert notification app so far and it’s extremely easy to customize. It allows you to set up your notifications personalized for contacts, emails and more. The pro version was updated on the 8th. What’s new?

I love BeBuzz. You can choose notification LED colors, sounds, to vibrate or not, customize your emails, messengers, twitter clients, facebook, etc. This latest update actually now supports the messaging client Hookt. There’s also a few other items in the changelog as well.

This was another important showcase from BlackBerry 10 Jam I missed. Wikitude is one of my most favorite apps. I always show this app because I love the way it allows you to view the world in an Augmented Reality, looking at it with new sight. I’m really excited about the possibilities and the potential with Wikitude!

I’ve had the honor of interviewing Andy Gstoll, the CMO from Wikitude and at that time he hinted to the fact that there were exciting plans in the works for BlackBerry and the PlayBook. Now here it is, the future with BlackBerry 10!

Wolfgang Damm, Lead Software ARchitect for Wikitude, and Martin Herdina, the CEO of Wikitude, were at BlackBerry 10 Jam and showed us the wonderful things we are in store for. They spoke about the tools they have for developers including the ability to publish your AR content in the Wikitude World Browser, or use the Wikitude’s Augmented Reality SDK and build it into your own app. Obviously, building into the Wikitude World Browser would give your content exposure with all the Wikitude users, but the great point here is that you have choices.

I love the way the glimpse worked, letting us see how to find people and places, how the Twitter bird shows the tweets, how you can see sales and offers, and even more fun was seeing the game with the spaceship. There are currently games in the Wikitude for BlackBerry but I am really excited and looking forward to seeing this in action on my BlackBerry 10 when it’s available.

Another app that was released for the BlackBerry PlayBook during the BlackBerry World 2012 was MyCityWay. Available in BlackBerry App World, the app currently features the top five cities in the U.S. however there are 68 additional cities making their way to the app soon. Check it out…

MyCityWay is pretty neat. Fist of all it’s free. When you click on it, it opens into two views. The first is called Snapshot and it includes movies, events, traffic cameras, news, gas prices, the weather, and deals. Each of these little subsections opens up to give you a much more detailed view. The second view is called My City. When you slide My City over, Snapshot dims. My City includes Dining, Nightlife, What’s On, Shop, and Travel.

Dining opens up different restaurants and delis, categorizes them, prices, and ratings and allows you to search. Nightlife includes Bars & Pubs, Night clubs, Music Venue, and Comedy clubs. What’s On includes Events and Movies. Shop includes Deals & Offers as well as Shopping which has several categories to help find you exactly what you’re shopping for. Travel has Airports, Hotels, and Attractions.

The five cities that it currently supports are:

• New York
• San Francisco
• Chicago
• Austin
• Seattle

Here are the features included:

• Have the first app that offers a personalized all-access snapshot of the city, instantly connecting you to all the up-to-the-minute usable information you crave.
• Know all the city’s hotspots and restaurants
• Keep up-to date with local news and the latest deals
• Stream live traffic cameras and avoid those bottlenecks
• Find the cheapest gas prices, the hottest sales, or upcoming events and concerts in your neighborhood

Just think, you can keep your city in your pocket and be in the know no matter what. No word yet what new cities will be added, but I’m pretty excited to find out which ones they’ll be. You can be anyone’s guide including yourself with this key to the city.

NodeBeat by AffinityBlue, is another music app that is synthesizer based and works as though created by the Greek Muse, Euterpe herself. It’s fun, creative, colorful and is very easy to use for all ages. For the price associated with the app, I know you’ll find it a steal.

First off, I need to be honest, I never heard of NodeBeat until they announced it for the BlackBerry PlayBook. It’s a very neat app no matter your age or musical talent. Show this one to your children and you may never see your BlackBerry PlayBook again, or at least until it needs to be charged again.

This app came out last month, and I thought I’d bring it to your attention. MorphWiz is the creation of Jordan Rudess and developer Kevin Chartier. The app is Billboard’s Best Music Creation App and MorphWiz – Play takes the deep sounds and fantastic visuals and brings it into a package of 30 custom presets. Check it out…

If you like music and sounds, and remember the classic rock bands such as Rush and others who used synthesizers (ELO), then you’ll absolutely love MorphWiz – Play. I had to check it out for myself, and it is a really neat app. I need to find time to watch the tutorials and inspire my inner musical talent, but I’m having fun with it in the meantime. Check it out and let us know what you think of this musical muse!

UberSocial has updated twice in two weeks, and with this latest update it fixed a couple bugs. UberSocial is available for the BlackBerry and is Twitter client that has themes available for download that are media related such as Sherlock Holmes 2, Ashton Kutcher’s A.plus, and Uber50 by 50 Cent. Check it out…

If you’re interested in one of the UberSocial themes, you have to have UberSocial installed and set up on your BlackBerry. UberSocial already comes eight themes included: Gray, Pink, Nature, Blue, Purple, Classic Uber, Red, and Midnight. It’s a fun Twitter app and is available in the BlackBerry App World. The themes you can download can be fun and even include sounds. My favorite is Sherlock Holmes 2.

Blaq by Kisai Labs updated a few days back so I’m a little late here, but better late than never. Blaq is definitely my favorite and preferred Twitter client for the BlackBerry PlayBook. The features and UI are just perfect and works perfect. Check out what was updated….

First it was Angry Birds which was updated a bit ago for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Now Angry Birds Seasons has been updated as well. I’ve been waiting for this update. The update includes the Cherry Blossom festival and the Year of the Dragon. The update is available in BlackBerry App World.

The BlackBerry Bridge app that connects your BlackBerry to your BlackBerry PlayBook has been updated. This small update fixes the Predictive Text issue with the Tablet OS 2.0.1 update. If you use the BlackBerry Bridge, open your BlackBerry App World, click on My World, click your Options button and click Refresh List. If not you can download it at the following link.
