Introducing the BBSync Home Screen Launcher!

That’s right if you addicted to our BlackBerry coverage you can now get the BlackBerrySync home screen launcher for free! By downloading this icon you will have on click access to BlackBerrySync.com’s mobile news site. You can download the icon OTA (Over the Air) by clicking here. Now I have to give a big shout out to the designer (Sib Ion) who creates custom launchers for extremely good prices! Not only that but he isn’t satisfied with his work until you are. Small design change coming…

Over the next little bit you will notice a small design change to our site. The site will still feature the same logo and background, however the way the content is placed will be changing. By changing the design we will make way for new features and a better reading experience. Stay tuned over the next few days.

UPDATE: So we have placed the new theme in place. Please let us know if there is any issues with it. It has been tested in IE7, Firefox and Safari.

It's finally time to announce the winners of Birthday Bash. We had three Otterbox cases to give away of their choice! Here's the three winners:

Pozi won a Otterbox case for recommending the Weather Eye application for BlackBerry. 

Chad won a OtterBox Pearl 2 Defender case ($49.95 value)

Chad won a Otterbox case for recommending the FindMe application which intergrates Facebook with your devices GPS. He said this is his favorite application until Twitter comes out…  

Sam won a OtterBox Curve Defender case ($49.95 value)

Sam's favorite application was Viigo, a great RSS reader for your BlackBerry.

Today (April 15th) celebrates BlackBerrySync.com's first birthday! Of course because we're celebrating something it's only right for us to provide presents!

BlackBerry Sync and OtterBox have teamed up for to give away three OtterBox cases. The winner can choose an OtterBox for the model of their choose (BlackBerry Pearl 8100, Pearl 2 (8120/8130), Curve 8300 or 8800). You can find more about the OtterBox cases here.

How can you get one of these cases? Well simply send us an email to birthdaybash @ blackberrysync dot com and tell us your favorite BlackBerry software. This software MUST be a third party application such as JiveTalk or Gridmagic. Please be sure to include the name of your favorite BlackBerry software and the model of your BlackBerry.

We will contact and announce the winners on April 20, 2008!

This contest is ONLY open to residents of Canada and the United States. All entries must be received by April 18, 2008 by 11:59 PM EST. Winners will be announced on April 20, 2008.

Well 2008 is here and we feel it's time that BlackBerry Sync grows with a new look. We are almost coming up to our One Year Birthday! So as an early birthday present we have decided to bring a new fresh look to BlackBerry Sync. The new look will feature new colours, new layout, less images on the main page to save our servers and a few other goodies you'll see soon.
