Rogers oh Rogers… 6GB of data for iPhone and maybe Bold?

Rogers must have felt the pain when 50,000+ Canadian's signed a petition against their iPhone data pricing. Well Rogers today announced special launch promotions for the iPhone. Select Rogers Plus stores will be opening at 8AM to offer the iPhone, but the best part out of all of this news…. Rogers will be offering a special data plan for the iPhone up until August 31, 2008.

The special data plan will be $30 a month and will offer 6GB of data! yes that's right 6GB. That's a whole lot of browsing. Now the best part is apparently this offer will be offered to 3G smartphones inlcuding the upcoming BlackBerry Bold. Also apparently Fido will be offering this amazing plan as well.

OH SNAP! Rumor has it that Apple is mad at Rogers for screwing Canadian's with high data prices. You may have heard of RuniediPhone.com, which is gathering signatures for a petition againest Rogers and the iPhone 3G pricing in Canada. Currently the petition is nearing 50,000 signatures! If you haven't signed it please head over to the site and SIGN IT. The other rumor in this story is that Apple has diverted a large amount of the iPhone stock heading for Canada to the UK because of this negative backlash.

Otterbox helps fight breast cancer with pink iPhone and Nano cases

Seems we missed a posting a story provided by our friends over at OtterBox. OtterBox is supporting the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade by donating 10% of every pink iPhone or iPod nano case purchased. Unfortunantly they don't have any pink Otterbox cases for the BlackBerry at this time but if you own a iPhone or iPod nano its a great cause. You can find the details out here

iPhone 3G gets announced.. I want a Bold still!

While usually we only cover BlackBerry news on the site this post is special. Apple has announced their upgraded iPhone featuring 3G and GPS. Apple also announced the new price tag of their 3G iPhone's. The 8GB version will ring in at only $199 everywhere (meaning $199USD or $199CAD) of course with a contract. AT&T will continue to be the exclusive carrier in the United States and looks like both Rogers and Fido will have it in Canada.

Now with all this iPhone talk how long before carriers release the BlackBerry Bold and RIM introduces the BlackBerry Thunder?

Danger’s cooking up some new stuff with Motorola

Danger Sidekick Slide

Danger and Motorola dedicated to get together to bring another new Sidekick device to the board. While it's no BlackBerry it's most likely the consumer-berry's cheapest competition. This is the Danger Sidekick Slide (or Zante to some) developed in partnership with Motorola. Not much information is known about, even Boy Genius himself isn't saying boo about it. He simply just put it out there. With this being out in the wild now we expect to see a launch within the next few weeks or months. Get out his gallery full of shots.

How the iPhone takes on the BlackBerry Curve

iPhone VS. Others

Apple has released a document showing how the BlackBerry Curve along side with the Samsung BlackJack, Treo 750 and Nokia N95 take on Apple's iPhone. The biggest claim to date is the iPhone will feature a 8 hour talk-time battery life. Now hopefully the iPhone battery will be better than my trusty ole' iPod.
