Attn: BlackBook For BlackBerry App Has Updated To v1.0.3

blackbook_contacts[1]

It always amazes me when I am setting a BlackBerry for a newbie and they are always quick to ask: “Where are my contacts?” And I always answered: “In the little black book”. Well this BlackBook app is a little different. This app is literally a little BlackBook you keep hidden.

The description of the app is as follows:

Keep your contacts hidden with blackBook’s completely hidden contact list, accessible only by entering a customizable key combination on your BlackBerry® smartphone’s keypad.

Sensitive calls and contacts are completely hidden on your phone. Protect your contacts personal information with blackBook.

A completely hidden contact list, only accessible by typing in a customizable secret key combination.

Fully editable information fields keep your contacts up-to-date.

User defined filtering for incoming and outgoing calls, sms, pin, and email conversations.

Customizable caller-id names for incoming calls.

Import and export the BlackBook contact list fast, and efficiently.

Features with the update include:

Select ALL option when importing contacts

Select ALL option when exporting contacts

View detailed phone-log information

Support for subjects in PIN messages

International dialing support

Here are some very important things to keep in mind:

Most Important

BlackBook does not have an application icon. Instead you will use a secret key-combination (customizable in BlackBook options).

To open BlackBook for the first time: Go to your home screen, and hit the red END CALL button 5 times.

After install a full restart is required to ensure all services are started

UPGRADE ALERT

When upgrading from previous versions be sure to EXPORT YOUR CONTACTS or they will be overwritten

Incoming SMS:

RIM does not allow incoming sms to be removed from blackberry devices. Please read BlackBooks FAQ page on our website for possible solutions.

If you have this app, please update it. If not and it sounds like this is an app you have to have, you can grab your copy of the BlackBook for $3.99 from the BlackBerry Sync Store here >

BlackBook works with all BlackBerry OS 4.5 and up.

Update for BerryBuzz to v 2.1.35

Capture-on-08-19-2009-10-25-06[1]

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you have BerryBuzz by Bellshare GmbH, it’s time to update it. Especially if you have updated your BlackBerry Messenger. With so many updates, it’s important to keep up with them. BerryBuzz and Color ID are two favorites of mine that I keep on my BlackBerry. Together I always know who or what is coming through on my phone. In case you’re wondering what’s new, here it is.

The new update fixes the following:

Fixed compatibility with the official BBM 5.0 on all OS versions

Fixed compatiblity with OS 5.0 (Audible reminders will not work on 5.0.0.2xx versions as there seems to be a bug that prevents 3rd party apps from adding items to the profiles).

BerryBuzz alerts you whenever you have a message. You customize the color, either from their choices or making your own, and it supports the messengers, even the BlackBerry Messenger! You can customize the color LED and the vibrate for each of your emails, sms, mms, messengers, etc. It’s an app you will find a great asset in.

So please sign in to your account if you have it and download the newest version. If you don’t have BerryBuzz, you can grab your copy from the BlackBerry Sync Store for $5.95.

Bolt Is Official, The Beta Tag Is Dropped

boltmiracle[1]

Bolt has announced it has dropped the beta tag and has released Bolt 1.5!  This new release is faster, 15% faster than the Beta 3. New features include the ability to stream videos of any length, a dedicated search bar, a download manager that downloads files straight from BOLT, and a caching feature to browse from a previously viewed page.

The description of BOLT is as follows:

BOLT is a free downloadable browser that offers an uncompromised browsing experience on even lower-end mobile phones.
Rather than offering a simplified, mini version of the Internet, BOLT provides users with a fast, efficient, feature-rich way to enjoy full PC-style web pages and rich media applications on all levels of mobile devices.
Built on Bitstream’s ThunderHawk browsing technology, BOLT is the result of 5+ years experience developing mobile browsers that optimize usability, speed and performance on resource-constrained systems with limited memory, processing power and screen space.

Vonage Launches Its BlackBerry App For BlackBerry

BlackBerryVonage

Vonage announced it’s mobile application for BlackBerry. Users can use it to make inexpensive international calls wherever they go. Vonage mobile international rates save users more than 50% in dozens of countries compared to most wireless carriers. Users can also use their existing number, contacts, and device interface to place calls. No extra steps needed.

Users also get real-time balance updates to ensure they always make the calls that they want. The app will use your phone number so that those you call know it’s you.

This is the press release:

HOLMDEL, NJ, October 5, 2009 – Today Vonage launched Vonage Mobile, its first mobile calling application for smartphones. Vonage Mobile is a free downloadable application (app) that provides seamless, low-cost international calling while on Wi-Fi or cellular networks*. Once downloaded, the service saves customers more than 50% on calls to dozens of countries versus the rates charged by wireless carriers while providing far more convenience than calling cards. Vonage Mobile will be available for download on the iPhone®, BlackBerry® and iPod touch® at www.vonage.com and the iTunes App Store later today.

With Vonage Mobile you can call around the world from home, a Wi-Fi hotspot, or while traveling around the country. Vonage Mobile is easy to use. There are no access numbers or new phone numbers to give to friends and family. Simply enter an international number or select a contact from the existing contacts on your iPhone or Blackberry and hit send. Vonage does the rest.

This app will give customers exceptional per-minute rates to any country they want to dial. In the fourth quarter 2009, we will enhance the app to include the popular Vonage World plan that was introduced for home service in August. This enhancement extends the ability to make unlimited calls to over 60 countries for one flat monthly fee to mobile users; giving customers the choice to pick the plan that fits them best.

And this is a little bit about Vonage: Vonage (NYSE: VG) is a software technology company that enables high-quality voice and messaging services across multiple devices and locations over broadband networks. Our award winning technology serves approximately 2.5 million subscribers. We provide feature-rich, affordable communication solutions that offer flexibility, portability and ease-of-use.

Our Vonage World plan offers free unlimited calling to landline phones in all cities and locations in more than 60 countries with popular features like call waiting, call forwarding and voicemail — for one low, flat monthly rate.
