If you go to RIM’s mobile page, you can find updated versions of some messaging clients and the Social Networking apps. I highly recommend updating your apps if they’re available. Rumor has it that RIM is preparing for OS 5.0 and these will be compatible. I always say a happy BlackBerry is one that keeps updated.
Our friends at Viigo have just introduced a new lighter version of their popular app for BlackBerry. The purpose of Viigo’s new ViigoNews App is for those who don’t use all of it’s the in-depth features. You grab ViigoNews by pointing your BlackBerry browser to http://getviigo.com/news.
I know myself I will be using ViigoNews as I really only use Viigo for RSS feeds. I don’t need to extra Twitter, Weather, etc. Anyway which version of Viigo will you use? Original or News?
Opera has released the next generation of their popular web browser for BlackBerry. Opera Mini 5 Beta is now available for download directly to your BlackBerry by visiting m.opera.com/next. The new Opera mini features a slick new UI, with tabbed browsing, speed dials to your favorite websites, password manager, and a variety of keyboard and touchscreen gestures. It’s really a sweet browser and we recommend you check it out today!
I tested the new beta on my BlackBerry Tour and had zero issues with it so far. It loads BBSync up perfectly, unlike the native BlackBerry browser. So go check it out and post a comment letting us know what you think…
I couldn’t wait for the U2 Mobile Album to be released. I waited and waited anxiously, purchased the CD No Line On The Horizon, signed up on the U2 site, and today it finally arrived. The previews had given us a glimpse, a taste of what was to come, so what is the Mobile Album?
I have been anxiously awaiting this app, so you can be sure I’ll have a review ready by this evening for you. I’m really psyched about it so far. The Mobile Album is available for download free, through the BlackBerry App World. I have a few pics for you, as this is just an announcement.

We have great news for those of you who like your Fantasy Football ‘09. Yahoo now has a FREE Fantasy Football app for your BlackBerry, what a great combination! I can’t say I’m a sports fan outside of hockey, but I know there are a few football fans out there just like my brothers.
Yahoo has released their Fantasy Football app in the BlackBerry App World, which will allow you to monitor your team from your BlackBerry including checking your league and player stats, and changes to the roster.
Some of the features of the app are as follows:
Live Scoring! Follow your team scores in real time.
Add and Drop Players: It’s that easy…switch them out as you see fit.
Matchups: Can’t remember who you play next week? The schedule rests in your hands, for you to look at a bat of an eye.

Yes, you read it right, FREE. The game is called BlackHole and it takes using the Storm’s tilting and rolling capabilities where you as the player needs to navigate the balls into a circle without touching the walls too often. You should download this one and try it and let us know what the verdict is.

Great news for Pacman lovers! BlackBerry OS announced a free version of Pacman for the BlackBerry. And I have to admit, it’s just like the arcade version. It comes complete with a high score list, mp3 sounds, and support for trackball and keyboard. It’s available for the Tour on down to the Pearl, but unfortunately the Storm is not included.

It’s time for another update, but this is one we’re sure you’re going to appreciate if you enjoy Slacker Radio. Improvements have been added making the Slacker use even better. For one thing, battery life has been improved while listening to the radio. For those of us who have a Tour, we’re sure you’re going to love that.
Improvements and changes include:
Battery life improved by twice as much as previous versions of Slacker while streaming.
Improved usability enhancements to the interface, and that’s including a “home” button to quickly access the station list.
The added ability to toggle the explicit content filter to be off and on from the main menu.
Addressed an issue caused when you placed a song on pause for an extended amount of time, and then Slacker would not properly playback the song when you were ready.
Also addressed the issue where if you received a call or message, that it would pause and then not properly resume, this was an issue that affected some users.
So what are you waiting for? If you like Slacker, stop slacking and get to downloading.
