Canadians will the Storm really be nearly $300 w/ 3YR?

Rumors have arrived that both TELUS and Bell in Canada will be selling the BlackBerry Storm for around $299 with a three year term. Bell is said to be offering their Storm for $479-200 (data and voice discount) so $279 with three year term. With Verizon’s Storm coming in at $199.99 with two year term. Does anyone think that Canadians will really buy the Storm at nearly $300 with a three year term?

I think we will have to wait and see what they do officially…

Our friends over at Mobile Syrup let us know that they got to spend some hands-on time a TELUS BlackBerry Storm. Here’s a blurb from the first part of their review “Overall, in our first review there is not much that we can say needs improving. The speed was good, accelerometer was responsive, music was loud (comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack), the pictures we good quality and the device as a whole was solid.”

BlackBerry coming to Fido very soon?

Rogers’ budget brand Fido under went some crazy re branding lately. A new rumor has arrived over at BGR and apparently Fido is trying to push out their first BlackBerry smartphone for this Christmas season. Earlier this year Fido killed off their BlackBerry Connect service which only ran on the Nokia E62. Apparently Fido might follow a similar suit to both Solo and Virgin Mobile by offering the Pearl as their first BlackBerry.

One interesting note is Fido seems to want to launch the Pearl 8120, the Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry. After the Holiday season Fido may launch the BlackBerry Pearl Flip as well.

BlackBerry Curve 8350i to churp on TELUS Mike soon?

Our TELUS ninja has reported that TELUS’ Mike iDEN network will finally see a new BlackBerry soon. The BlackBerry Curve 8350i is the new addition to the iDEN BlackBerry lineup (joining the 7100i and 7520i). It will feature Wi-Fi, OS 4.6, Direct Connect (PTT) and a little more ruggid but similar design to the current Curve 8300 series. Unfortunantly for now this ninja doesn’t have an exact release but they are expecting it to come soon with tons of accessories to make it a more consumer friendly market.

So what do you think? Will TELUS introduce two BlackBerry smartphones (Storm and iDen Curve) in the month of December or will they wait until early next year??

Thanks, Frogger

Bell and TELUS to launch BlackBerry Storm at same time

News have arrived that Bell managers received a email last week stating that they would be launching the BlackBerry Storm 9530 shortly after Verizon does. Verizon is expected to launch their Storm on November 21st. The interesting part about the email is that Bell is saying “Bell & Telus will receive the device for sale at the same time.”

Bell requires all BlackBerry Storm quizzes to be cfompleted by December 5th. Therefore this could mean that the Storm will be available on both Canadian carriers around December 8th or so. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer…

The Holiday Shopping season is now starting in full swing. The competitive pricing on BlackBerry smartphones is here. Both Bell and TELUS both now have their popular BlackBerry Pearl 8130 for $0 with three year term and Rogers is offering their new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 for only $24.99 with three year term as well.

Let’s take a quick peak into the deals between the big three and see who is winning.

Bell: Currently offering Pearl 8130 for $0 (in four colors) and Curve 8330 for $99 (two colors) with three year terms.

TELUS: Currently offering the same pricing as Bell. Free Pearl 8130 (choice of 5 colors) and $99 Curve 8330 (choice of 3 colors) with three year terms.

Rogers: Currently offering Pearl Flip for $24.99 (choice of two colors), Curve 8320 (one color) for $99, Bold 9000 for $199, Pearl 8110 or 8120 for $49, Curve 8310 (three colors) for $99 all with three year terms.

Virgin Mobile: Currently only offering the Pearl 8130 in one color for $0 with three year term. Should be offering the Curve 8330 sometime this month as well.

Then of course if you wait just a little bit you should be able to pick up a BlackBerry Storm 9530 from either Bell or TELUS for an unknown price..

After you pick up your new BlackBerry smartphone head on over to The BlackBerry Sync Store and get it setup with hot new accessories and software!
