So Kevin from CrackBerry went out and got his hands on a shinny brand new BlackBerry Bold 9000 from Rogers. He unboxed it and recorded a video for everyone to see. Check it out and see what he has to say about this bad boy. Kevin shows the accessories included in box such as their new styled leather holster, new stereo headphones and the rest of the classic stuff…
Best Buy Canada is getting ready to stock RIM’s new BlackBerry Bold smartphone in stores beginning today. Also Best Buy has announced they will be opening their Best Buy Mobile stores in Toronto starting sometime later this year. Keep an eye on BestBuy.ca for Bold details. Best Buy didn’t say if their brother company Future Shop will sell the Bold as well at this time.
“The BlackBerry Bold is one of the hottest new products for Canadian technology enthusiasts,” said Phil Johnston, Director, Wireless Solutions, Best Buy Canada Ltd. “We want Canadians to know that they can count on Best Buy for the latest and greatest in mobile technology.”
Simon from BBCool managed to get his hands on a Rogers BlackBerry Bold yesterday. He has posted some unboxing shots of the device. One thing I noticed right off the bat is that the BlackBerry Bold is shipping with RIM’s new in ear headphones that we saw a few months back.
Well everyone its August 21st! This means its BlackBerry Bold launch day for Rogers in Canada. We have heard rumors of more software delays but for now the Bold is available on Rogers.com and its showing as orderable. Pricing goes as follows: $399.99 with three year contract and “regular price” (is that no contract?) for $599.99.
So Rogers has accidently listed the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 (aka Kickstart) on their gaming downloads page. This could mean one of two things either Rogers will be launching the Pearl 8220 within the week or two or that they simply made an error and listed it way too early. Our bet goes along with previous reports that you will see the Pearl 8220 instores for September 1st or so.
That’s right folks! Rogers is officially launching their BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone this Thursday August 21, 2008. Invites have been sent to the media to attend the Bold launch. Pricing isn’t confirmed anywhere but its expected to launch with a price of $399 with three year and $650 without contract. The Canadian Press is also reporting that the Bold will be launched this Thursday.
Seems that Rogers’ BlackBerry Bold will remain at $399 with three year contract, however it seems the outright price (MSRP) is better than expected. The Bold will run you $649.99 with no contract, which for some people sounds a whole lot better if you don’t want to be stuck into one of those lovely ball and chain contracts.
Interesting enough Rogers has the BlackBerry Bold in one of their new flyers. The price will be a little heavy at $399 with contract and nearly $1,000 without contract. Looks like some people might be waiting for BlackBerry Javelin or BlackBerry Thunder after all… Click on over to see the flyer!
In just another sign that Rogers is getting close to their BlackBerry Bold launch, they have received a Bold launch kit containing a dummy phone and several brochures plus a rubber skin for it. Recent rumors have pointed to a August 19th launch with would make total sense now. Stay tuned!
