We first saw a mock up of the BlackBerry London a couple months ago. London is the code-name for the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, which is expected to launch later this year. Now curiosity of CrackBerry, a new image of BlackBerry London has leaked out, and it appears to be right from an internal presentation. As you can see the latest version of London looks like a BlackBerry PlayBook and phone all-in-one. Some are even saying it looks a lot like the Android powered Motorola Droid X. There wasn’t too many details to go along with the slide, but rumors are pointing to powerful 1.5GHz dual core processors, powered by TI (for HSPA/LTE) and Qualcomm (for CDMA). Sadly it looks like we’ve got quiet the wait ahead of us before the BlackBerry 10 smartphones launch. With any luck a live hands-on photo will arrive sooner than later… Stay tuned.

Over the past few months there has been a lot of buzz about <del>BBX</del> BlackBerry 10 hardware. It all started with the BlackBerry Colt, which apparently was killed off, then the BlackBerry code-named London arrived, shortly followed by Milan, the slide-up (Torch-like) QWERTY BB10 smartphone. Well N4BB is reporting that this BlackBerry may have been scrapped due to hardware concerns. Keep in mind that RIM has not actually produced any of these smartphones yet, they are simply prototypes. It will be very interesting to see where RIM goes from here, they definitely need to introduce at least one BlackBerry 10 smartphone with a fully QWERTY keyboard. Personally I think they should do a landscape slider, as it would fit a keyboard and large screen better…

Now that the BBX name has come and gone we have to get use to typing BlackBerry 10. CrackBerry has gotten their hands on the first images of the BlackBerry code-named “Milan” which is a Torch-like BB10 smartphone. As you can see it’s a portrait slider smartphone, which closely resembles the Torch 9800/9810. The Milan also features a similar design to the London, which leaked out a couple weeks ago. It’s also rumored that the future BB10 smartphones will have a higher pixel density than the iPhone 4′s retina display, which could make for some stunning displays. Unfortuntely no news of actual specs for Milan has been posted as of yet. Now all we can hope for is an actual live shot of this handset. Stay tuned!

It just keeps getting better all the time. Kevin from BBCool was able to uncover more of the specifics we’ve been waiting for from the BlackBerry Innovation event Q & A RIM had following the event that was held recently. Ronen from BerryReview did a great job of condensing the details to the main points. We’ll share them with you.

We’ve been excited with wondering what’s to come, and those of us who have our BlackBerry PlayBook and OS 7 devices are anxiously looking forward to BBX devices, Bridge enhancements, and the 4G PlayBook. The details that have been revealed so far give us reason to keep our faith.

Here’s Ronen’s highlights:

4G PlayBooks will launch around the same time (early 2012) as the PlayBook 2.0 OS which is scheduled for February 2012. It has been in testing for several months on multiple carriers.

PlayBook OS 2.0 will be bringing speed improvements to Bridge without many UI changes. Mostly improvement and functionality. There will be “some updates down the road”

RIM has teams working on extending PlayBook video chat into an endpoint for corporate video chat so it is beyond just device to device. (I want to know more!)

PlayBook messages and PIM will sync almost as fast as smartphones.

The push infrastructure is the same as the current smartphone push but the moderator did not think PIN to PIN messaging was in OS 2.0 yet

OS 2.0 will have spell-check with type ahead and word prediction

S/MIME encryption will not be available at OS 2.0 launch but will be available shortly after

Currently the PlayBook native email does not color code BES vs Personal email

BlackBerry Mobile Fusion server can handle 10,000+ users per server compared to the current 2,000 user limit.

RIM Plans on making more apps be able to connect to the internet over bridge

RIM is looking into other PlayBook sizes

The 4G PlayBook will not have voice capabilities beside video chat at first. The initial release will be data and video chat. There will also be third party apps that can make regular calls but nothing from RIM.

Corporate and personal contacts are in one general list but the device knows which is which. Any new contact will be corporate by default.

Be sure and read Kevin’s transcript from BlackBerry Cool and let us know what you think. Good job Kevin in uncovering more for us all.

Remember that device we talked about a couple weeks ago called BlackBerry London? Well new rumors floating around the internet say that RIM might be looking to brand their first BBX superphone “Surfboard”. Of course these are just rumors, and we will have to take them with a huge grain of salt, until the official unveiling in 2012. What’s also interesting is that RIM has been in fact sitting on the Surfboard trademark since July 2010, Personally I thought there was rumors of RIM calling the PlayBook the Surfboard back in the day. I guess we will have to wait until sometime next year to find out what RIM has up their sleeves.

Could it be? Is this a BlackBerry BBX OS powered superphone? RIM’s new BBX operating system is set to be unveiled sometime next year, with their new Superphones being available publicly mid-2012. The Verge is reporting that this could in fact be the first live shots of a BBX smartphone, which will be powered by a TI OMAP dual-core processor clocked to 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8.0 megapixel rear camera, and a 2.0 megapixel front-facing camera. This superphone is code-named “London” and is thinner than the iPhone 4, Sadly The Verge wasn’t able to confirm if the “London” was an actual running unit or simply a dummy device. BGR has also chimed in on the device saying it is in fact real, and that RIM has decided to scrap the long-rumored BlackBerry Colt in favor of the London, and they say we won’t see it until Q3 2012. Eek. More on that when we get it…

Although RIM is yet to announce the all touch BlackBerry Curve 9380, it seems Telus jumped the gun a little early. The un-announced BlackBerry Curve 9380 has appeared in the Telus Holiday Guide as coming soon. The new Curve 9380 is a BlackBerry 7 OS smartphone, which features a 3.2″ high resolution touch screen, and a 800MHz processor. We expect RIM will announce this device soon, and it should make its way to various carriers soon.

The BlackBerry 9980 (aka Knight) is one of the curious BlackBerry smartphones at the year. While many thought the device was a fake, it seems that it is real and it is coming very soon. The BlackBerry Knight is a collaboration with design inputs taken from Porsche. The BlackBerry 9980 is expected to be unveiled on October 27th in Dubai. Rumors indicate that this BlackBerry will not be available to the average consumer, and will be available exclusively for Porsche owners. I guess we will have to wait a few more days before we know the exact details of this interesting device.

Okay so we’ve been very leery to post about this device, until now. At first we thought this device was simply a chinese knockoff, but new details just keep pouring in about this device, including high-resolution photos and a video. So here’s what we know thus far. This BlackBerry is being code-named Knight, its internal model is R47, public model number is the 9980, and it has a <del>fugly</del> very interesting design. Apparently IF this device hits the market, it won’t be found in the average cell phone store. RIM could be working with Porsche to design this BlackBerry smartphone, and much of its design is inspired by Porsche. It’s also safe to say that this device is NOT a QNX-powered device, and certaintly doesn’t look what I imagine a BlackBerry Superphone to look like.

Check out some more pictures and the video below. Of course, stay tuned for more details when they become available.
