BlackBerry Storm 2 spotted in Vodafone Germany Inventory…

vodafone-de-storm-2

Guess what’s spotted in Vodafone Germany’s inventory? The heavily rumored, don’t post a picture of RIM will kill you… BlackBerry Storm 2. This hopefully means that the Storm 2 is starting to enter inventory databases around the World. The Storm 2 will for sure be the next generation in the Storm family sporting RIM’s upgraded Surepress touch screen and Wi-Fi. No one seems to have any word on pricing or exact launch details yet, but its expected to land on many networks across the World this October-November.

BlackBerry 9990 with OS 5.7 in the wild? Is this the new model for the Storm 2?

blackberry9990sm

An interesting photo popped up on CrackBerry this morning. It’s a photo of OS 5.7.0.151  on what appears to be the un-announced BlackBerry Storm 2. Some people seem to think of the BlackBerry 9990 is the new model for the un-announced BlackBerry Storm 2, which should be launching October/November. No one can seem to confirm if this OS in fact real, of if somone is having some photoshop fun. You might want to check out the full discussion on CrackBerry Forums for the full details…

What do you think… Photoshop or actual OS?

OtterBox announces Commuter Series Case for BlackBerry Storm

Our friends at OtterBox have just announced a new product (via Twitter). Meet the Commuter Series Case for the BlackBerry Storm from OtterBox. The Commuter brings both their Impact and Defender case all-in-one. It should be launching fairly soon for only $34.95. Stay tuned, because it should be available in the BBSync Store soon…

“The OtterBox Commuter™ Series case for the BlackBerry® Storm™ offers the best of both worlds; incorporating elements from the rugged Defender Series™ line with the silicone, skin-like Impact Series™ line to create a slick case designed with your style in mind. It’s protection without the bulk. The exposed silicone corners dissipate impact away from the device for additional bump and shock protection and the smooth outer layer allows the case to easily slide into your pocket or purse. All buttons are fully functional through the case and the audio jack and USB port are accessible through silicone plugs.”

BlackBerry Thunder shows up in Verizon Inventory… Again?!

vzw-thunder-1

It look as though another screen shot of Verizon’s system has surfaced, this time it’s a name we haven’t heard in a while. It seems that the BlackBerry Thunder name might be making a return internally. Some sources think it may be a place holder for the upcoming BlackBerry 9950 (Storm 2). Is that in fact what it is? What do you think? Maybe it is a device we haven’t even heard of yet. The possibilities are endless, we can only hope more information is soon to follow.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Dummy Phone Shows Up In Carriers System

9550 Sku

It seems as though things are taking a step in the right direction for those of you that are patiently or not waiting for the release of the Storm 2. A picture of Verizon’s inventory screen has surfaced that shows a dummy or as some of you may refer to it as a display phone is in the carriers system. One can only hope that this means the actual phone itself is soon to follow.

BlackBerry Storm 2 shall be 9550, getting ready for CDMA networks, plus 9520 for Rogers and AT&T

bbstorm2-1

I somehow missed this story on the weekend. Boy Genius is reporting that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be modeled 9550, and will be heading towards Verizon, Vodafone, Bell and Telus. The new Storm 2 is said to bring RIM’s next generation “SurePress” touchscreen with CDMA/Rev. A radio, Quad-band GSM, HSDPA, plus Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. It’s going to be a feature packed device sporting OS 5.0 and a high resolution 360×480 display. But wait there’s more! Boy Genius is reporting that the North American GSM model (9520) will be part of the Storm 2 family, and make its way to AT&T and Rogers with a 3G radio. Both models (9550 and 9520) should be heading across the World later this year.

Specs on the Storm 2 “9550″:

  • CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO Rev. A
  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE
  • Single-band UMTS/HSDPA (2100MHz only)
  • Wi-Fi b,g
  • 3.2 megapixel camera
  • 360×480 resolution capacitive screen
  • OS 5.0

What do you think? Will you try out the Storm 2, after the mixed reviews on the orginal Storm?

The BlackBerry Speaker Test – Comparing Tour, Bold, Storm, Curve 8900

Here is a great video which Ronen from BerryReview found. This video compares all the latest BlackBerry models (Curve 8900, Bold, Storm 9530, and Tour 9630) and their speakers to see which one sounds the best. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video quite like this, the creator rates them side by side using the same music demo. It appears that the Bold may still have the best speaker, followed by the hot new Tour. Check out the video for youself and let us know what you think…
