iskin-bb-overview

iSkin has been known to design some really nice iPhone cases, but now they’ve expanded their lineup by introducing cases for BlackBerry. iSkin has introduced the Vibe series for the BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900, and Storm. Unfortunately no love for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 or Curve 8520 just yet. We’ve been checking out these cases for the past few weeks and so far we’re very impressed! They fit like a glove, and are designed to protect for sure. Included in the packaging is both the skin and a mirrored screen protector for maximum protection and privacy.

This is the first leak we’ve seen for the BlackBerry Tour and we’ve glad its finally here. Apparently this Tour OS (.140) is old and buggy now, so as much as you might want to install it, maybe wait for a newer version. Follow the links below to download any of the OS versions, however please remember these OS’ have NOT been officially released by RIM. Many applications may not work on your device, it’s recommended you do a full backup before installing.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Shows Off New Piezoelectric Technology for SurePress

2009-08-25-storm2dissect-1

More and more photos of the Storm 2 are finding their way onto the internet. The newest pictures to surface showcase the piezoelectric technology that is making its debut in the Storm 2. If you haven’t been keeping up on the Storm 2 you might be asking yourself what piezoelectric technology is. Unlike the original Storm with just one pivoting button the Storm 2 has four sensors. The sensors are only activated when electrical current is going through the phone so when it is turned off or in standby mode the screen won’t click. It will be interesting to see just how well this new technology works. Check out more pictures and details over at Engadget.

Once again Twitter/Youtube member Salomondrin has released a new video showing off the un-released BlackBerry Storm 2. The Storm 2 in the review has older software on it, and doesn’t show off the Wi-Fi which the Storm 2 will pack. After watching this seven minute video we didn’t really learn anything new, but its sweet to see another one live in action. Apparently the Storm 2 will run 100 times better than the current version, the Surepress is still there its just been made better. Watch the video below and let us know what you think… Will you check out the Storm 2?

Oh and Yes... This is a CDMA version (it just has an unlocked sim card slot). You will see this device on Verizon, Bell and TELUS.

IDC Confirms What We All Know, BlackBerry Rules!

blackberry-vs-iphone[1]

The Research and Consulting firm, IDC, listed the top-selling smartphone models in the US. It lists vendor sales to carriers and channels as well. So far it’s going on preliminary data. The actual numbers won’t be available till the end of the month. So let’s see what the firm says so far.

No 10 is the HTC Touch from Sprint, Nextel, and Verizon Wireless.

No 9 is the HTC Touch Pro from Sprint, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and others.

No 8 is the Palm Pre from Sprint.

No 7 is the T-Mobile G1 by HTC from T-Mobile USA.

No 6 is the Research In Motion BlackBerry Storm from Verizon Wireless.

No 5 is the Research In Motion BlackBerry Bold from AT&T.

No 4 is the Apple iPhone 3G (both versions) from AT&T.

No 3 is the Research In Motion BlackBerry Pearl (all 81xx series, excluding the Flip) from AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and others.

No 2 is the Apple iPhone 3GS (both versions) from AT&T.

No 1 is the Research In Motion BlackBerry Curve (83xx series and 8900) from AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and others.

So what does that say? Research In Motion rules the smartphone world, and the BlackBerry Curve is still holding the number one position. I’m not surprised, though I’m very curious to see how the numbers change with the BlackBerry Tour 9630 entering the smartphone scene. I really like the Tour, it’s been very reliable, and I’m curious to see if it will rise to the top or come pretty close.

Anyone have any thoughts to share?
