I wasn’t sure if RIM would continue their Storm series, after the launch of the BlackBerry Torch, but it appears RIM is indeed working on a next generation Storm model. The folks at BerryReview have received a picture of what the tipster claims is the Storm 3. Apparently the Storm 3 will sport a 3.7″ touch display and 8GB of internal memory. We can only hope that RIM has decided to use a more high resolution display for the Storm 3, but something tells me it won’t be too crazy. Sadly we don’t know when it will be available or really any other specs about it. Stay tuned for more news when we find it…

TIpsters have confirmed with the guys at MobileSyrup that the CDMA BlackBerry Storm2 9550 will be heading to Bell around April 13th. Some pricing has been reveailed, however it’s not expected to be final. TELUS currently sells the Storm2 for $199 with three year contract, and we expect to see Bell launch it around the same, or slightly lower. It’s important to point out that this is a CDMA smartphone, and is not compatible with Bell’s HSPA network.

Rumored pricing:

$349.95 on 3-year contract
$399.95 on 2-year contract
$499.95 on 1-year contract
$549.95 no contract

MTS is largely a CDMA carrier in Manitoba, and it seems that both models will make a great fit to their existing lineup.

Apparently HowardForums member “codwil” sent MTS an email asking them when they will see some more up to date smartphones, and this was the reply he received:

“Thanks for your email. We currently plan to launch both the Blackberry Storm 2 & the Tour 2 in late spring early summer 2010. We are also currently in talks with several manufacturers in regards to the Android phones but unfortunately nothing is nailed down at this point, we are looking at a tentative launch date of an Android unit in Spring 2010.”

So it looks to be a pretty good Spring for MTS! Any readers here from Manitoba who have a comment?

It looks like Sasktel is getting ready to release two new CDMA BlackBerry smartphones, the Storm2 9550 and Curve 8530. According to our friends at MobileSyrup, Sasktel should be releasing both models within the near future. Sasktel had the Curve 8530 posted on their website, however it seems to be removed now. The BlackBerry Storm2 seems to have been posted under the Sasktel BlackBerry OS Downloads page. So I would say its safe to assume a launch is coming in the near future.

Hey that reminds me… What happened to Bell releasing the Storm2 9550?

Well this certainty does look like a real device, but could it be the rumored BlackBerry Slider? If you remember last week we talked about how RIM has been working on a device with a design similar to the Palm Pre. Could this be it? Pictures surfaced on CrackBerry Forums & BBLeaks then shortly were removed off CrackBerry… What do you think? A Slider design with full QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad. We aren’t too sure if it has a touchscreen or not at this point, but we will keep you updated once more details arrive.
