Pre-Production BlackBerry Javelin on eBay

Seems RIM just can’t keep their pre-production models off eBay anymore. First it was the BlackBerry Bold, then Kickstart/Pearl 8220 and now its the BlackBerry Javelin 8900. The auction is currently sitting at $899.99 USD with just over six days remaining. So if you want to get your hands on a pre-release unit head on over to eBay at the link below BUT be aware all sales are final and even though the unit has been tested on Rogers BIS/BES networks the device could still be blocked.

BlackBerry Javelin 8900 will feature OS 4.7

So most of you are still rocking RIM’s OS 4.5 and lower (unless you got your hands on a Bold, then you have 4.6). BBCool is reporting that RIM’s next up BlackBerry Javelin, which is the Curve replacement will be running OS 4.7. This new version of RIM’s OS will look a lot like the BlackBerry Bold’s OS, however its expected to give support for 16GB Micro SD cards and an updated version of the full HTML browser. The new browser should fix all errors users are currently having when browsing sites loaded with Javascripts.

OS 4.7 should make its debut on RIM’s first touchscreen smartphone, the BlackBerry Thunder/Storm later this year as well.

Kickstart looks huge beside a Javelin and Bold

So in case you didn’t know. A BlackBerry Kickstart looks huge beside its unreleased cousin the BlackBerry Javelin 8900. This picture popped up on HowardForums today and I can’t believe the size. Oh well I’m sure everyone will get use to it. Now if only RIM would launch the Kickstart and Javelin now!

BlackBerry Javelin compared to Curve and 8800

Ever wonder how big the upcoming BlackBerry Javelin is compared to other BlackBerry smartphones? Well someone over at HoFo posted an image comparing the un-released Javelin to a BlackBerry Curve and 8800. This thin BlackBerry will basically be the 3G-less version of the new BlackBerry Bold. It will be released sometime later this year for GSM carriers. Stay tuned for more details when they arrive!
