Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 Unboxed by BGR, Good News to Report!

normal_verizonblackberrytour1

Who else but Boy Genius has unboxed the Verizon BlackBerry Tour before release. BGR happy to report that Verizon’s Tour is hot and sexy, plus sports a new battery door with soft rubber and carbon-fiber plus included in box is a actual leather holster, not a pouch like most of the newer RIM devices. Enjoy this teaser of pictures until Verizon officially releases the Tour on July 12th.

  • The battery door isn’t all glossy anymore which was scratch city. It’s got soft-touch rubber on the outer part and the inner part is a carbon-fiber material. Really, really sharp.
  • The dark chrome bezel which is also found on the BlackBerry Onyx looks stunning on the Verizon Tour.
  • The device comes with a BlackBerry leather holster!

Verizon now taking Pre-Orders for BlackBerry Tour in 2 models (With or Without Camera)

vzw-bbtour-preorder

We just got word that Verizon has updated their site and is now taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry Tour 9630. Looks like it will be available in both a camera and camera-less model to basically replace the againg BlackBerry 8830 World Edition. Pre-orders are now taking place at a price of $199 with two-year term and can be done at verizonwireless.com. As for the camera-less model it appears to be the exact same price of the normal one.

If you place a pre-order for one of these bad boys… Which model did you order?

BlackBerry Tour 9630 clears the FCC!

tour-clears-fcc

We’ve just received a great tip! Apparently the BlackBerry Tour has cleared the FCC. Unfortunately it seems that internal and external photos of the Tour has not been posted yet. We did managed to grab a sketch of the back of the device, and it sure looks like the Tour to me. The FCC describes this device as a CDMA/GSM/WCDMA device with Bluetooth and GPS. I’m sure the confediantly agreement will be lifted soon and the external pictures will be shown. This means that the Tour should go on sale, on time next month! If you want to check out the FCC’s documents you can here.

Round Up of BlackBerry Tour 9630 Previews!

blackberry-tour-handset-photo-gallery-9

Just after we reported about Engadget getting some hands-on time with the newly announced BlackBerry Tour, We noticed some other sites got to take a peak too. Here’s a quick round up of both Verizon and Sprint branded BlackBerry 9630’s in the wild. Unfortunately for Canadians we haven’t been able to track down any Bell or Telus hands-on, with the exception of the leaked Telus ones a while ago. From these previews it looks like Verizon has decided to go with the black/darker bezel and Sprint the more Chrome look found on the Curve 8900. Anyway enjoy all the previews…

Now with all these hands-on previews a lunch must be getting “fairly close”. Also if you find any other previews of the Tour that we missed please let us know…
