gwabbit_logo_official_lores[1]

Not only has Gwabbit managed to stay at number one, they have also increased growth by 150% in sales. That’s really saying something. I can tell you by my experience with the app, the reason it sells so well is because it works! And it works efficiently, easily, and most important it’’s fast. It runs $9.99 for a yearly suscription and worth every bit of it and then some.

As stated by the press release:

San Francisco, CA – July 21, 2009 – gwabbit, LLC, the only provider of automatic email contact management (ECM) solutions for the contact cloud today announced that gwabbit for BlackBerry is the number one paid application on BlackBerry App World’s “Professional and Business” category for the 8th straight week.  App World’s Professional and Business category includes such well-known apps as Bloomberg, SalesForce Mobile, and ZDNet. gwabbit automatically searches and identifies contacts embedded in emails on your BlackBerry smartphone, and adds or updates that information to your BlackBerry Contacts, in a single click.  gwabbit’s companion product for Outlook automatically captures contacts within Microsoft Outlook emails.

I really like the app and recommend it to those who receive emails they find important, want to save time adding contacts, and especially business consumers, and entrepeneurs. SuperPages Mobile Is Officially Released To The Storm For Free

superpages

As a beta, it brought you the power of the Yellow Pages and was able to locate businesses, get fast movie information, give you directions and a map so you can find your way there, find a person in town or on the other side of the country, or even five day weather forcast, reverse lookup and more. But now the app is out of beta and on to it’s official release. What is new with the SuperPages Mobile app you ask?

Mauricio was informative about the new official app and how it has the SuperGuarantee Program which means certain services by certain advertisers from the YellowPages.com and Verizon Yellow Pages are guaranteed. That’s assurance right there. You can read and review businesses with a thumbs up or thumbs down, much like your digital radio rating. You can also add photos and find local WiFi spot, both free and pay per use.

You can now have access to over 17 million US businesses, all at your fingertips. To download the app, you can either go to the SuperPages.com Mobile  or the BlackBerry App World.  If you do download it, please let us know what you think.

A version for the Pearl and the Bold should be following soon.

Get Your BlackBerry buzzd, Free App Tells You Where The Happening Spots Are

buzzdid

There’s a new beta application available for the BlackBerry. It’s called buzzd. Now you might be wondering what all the buzz is about, so let me share with you. Before the application for the BlackBerry, it was only accessible online on it’s website or from a mobile browser. The program lets you know what events and concerts (50,000 events a month from Canada, the UK and US) are happening in the location you seek, and where to find food and drinks. The information comes from trusted sources and real time reviews from the buzzd community. It is the first application from the BlackBerry AppWorld to use Cell ID, which can be faster than GPS and it can be used in buildings, including clubs. This app is a direct result of the BlackBerry Partners Fund, and has the potential to be the leading location finder from BlackBerry AppWorld.

So let me tell you what makes it unique. The Cell ID is impressive, and hopefully we will see more of this type of location finder in other apps because while GPS is blocked by some providers or there may not be any GPS signal, Cell ID will work as long as there’s reception because it works with the cell sites. It receives its listings from over 20 content providers such as Citysearch, Last.fm, ZAGAT, and Flavorpill among others. It has a smooth UI and integrates with Twitter so you can broadcast to your tweeps where you are and what you’re doing. All the content Buzzd provides is free, unlike ZAGAT that has one source and runs $20.00. You send invites and get your friends to join. You can post a buzz, which a text to your friends. You can add events to your BlackBerry Calendar, and it integrates with your maps to allow you to find directions and locate the destinations (1.5 million venues available throughout Canada, the UK and US). You can also share your pics and reviews with your buzzd community.

If you would like to download Buzzd to your BlackBerry and give it a try, you can go to the BlackBerry AppWorld or to the buzzd website. If you do it from the website you can register, use your Facebook to log in, and create an account and have the application texted to your phone. Install from the link texted and you’re good to go.

If you decide to get buzzd, please leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

The app works with OS 4.2 and higher, and is compatible with the BlackBerry smartphones with those OS including the Pearl, the Curve, the Bold, and the Storm.

Shazam launches for BlackBerry – Identify nearly any song, anywhere

shazam_main

Have you ever been driving along and heard a song that you just had to know what it was? A nifty application called Shazam is here to solve this problem. Originally Shazam was designed for the iPhone, however they have just released their first BlackBerry application. Shazam is offering a free 60 day trial for the app then you can purchase it. For some odd reason they decided to launch the application without supporting the BlackBerry Storm (who knows why). Anyways you can download Shazam from BlackBerry App World directly on your device.

Key features of Shazam for BlackBerry:

  • Identify music anywhere: from the radio, TV, film, or in a store by simply holding a BlackBerry smartphone towards the music and selecting ‘Tag Now’.
  • Buy music immediately when it’s heard: tag details link directly to Amazon, and other merchants as available, to give users instant access to the music they love and related music merchandise.
  • Share the experience: send tags to friends who share same musical taste via SMS, email or BlackBerry® PIN messaging.
  • Learn more about the music: read track and album reviews, artist biographies and (starting in North America initially) view song lyrics, plus find other music available from the same artist.
  • Options to find similar music: discover other music similar to the track users like, to enhance their music collection and knowledge.
  • Find out what’s hot and popular: access to Shazam music charts generated by millions of other users in country.
  • Music search capabilities: enabling users to easily find music by artist, album or track from a database with over 8 million songs.
