Telus jumping in line for 8830?

Will Canada’s Telus Mobility be next in line for the BlackBerry 8830 world device? We think so. Bell recently just announced they will be launching it this summer. While Telus won’t officially confirm or deny they will getting a new BlackBerry anytime soon a annoymous tipster has confirmed it’s coming soon.

Bell announces summer release of BlackBerry 8830

Bell Canada has announced the upcoming summer release of the BlackBerry 8830 World device. While no pricing was announced the device is due out July 2007.

“The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition will offer Bell Mobility clients the best of both worlds – the superior coverage and data capabilities of North America’s CDMA network standard and the global reach of GSM technology,” said Wade Oosterman, President of Bell Mobility. “Those world-ranging capabilities are wrapped up in a sleek package that’s just 14 mm thick, but offers the most powerful combination of productivity tools, multimedia capabilities and enhanced user features available in a smartphone.”

Both Verizon, Sprint and RIM today all announced the launch of the BlackBerry 8830, the CDMA variant of the 8800 series. The action starts May 14th for Verizon Wireless. The BlackBerry 8830 brings you a .55 inch thin body with CDMA/GSM radio and full QWERTY keyboard.

Verizon to launch 8830 on May 17th?

Looks like Verizon might just be launching the BlackBerry 8830 next month, according to a tipster over at Engadget Mobile.

The BlackBerry 8830 aka Cyclone is a world device offering GSM roaming capabilites along with a high resolution display and multimedia features (with expandable memory up to 2GB via a microSD slot).

This is the upcoming Blackberry world device for Verizon Wireless. Built off the 8800 series, this model has been code-named Cyclone. Cyclone aka 8830 features a QVGA display, microSD memory card slot, trackball, full QWERTY keyboard, CDMA with EV-DO as well GSM for world travelling. It is unclear if the 8830 will be Dual, Tri or Quadband GSM. The Blackberry 8830 will lack at a camera at launch however we may see some more CDMA blackberries in the near feature.
