Wikitude for the BlackBerry got it’s update to v7.0.5 and wow, what a difference the new update brought! It has donned a new “Attitude”, the new Wikitude. Wikitude is my favorite Augmented Reality app and now it’s even more interactive and intuitive. The new UI has more screens and more views. Check out what’s new…

The following was included with the new update:

  • New Panorama UI with Favorites, Features, and Category screens –  Swipe left/right to access them.
  • ARLink support – option to embed a direct link to Wikitude Worlds anywhere in the web.
  • Smoother animations in cam view
  • Altitude service integration – automatically determine altitude for placemarks that do not come with that information.
  • Improved support for Hebrew and Arabic languages
  • Many small improvements and bug fixes.

These are the three screens available:

  • Favorites screen: organize and bookmark your content “Worlds” according to your preferences & lifestyle
  • Featured screen: Updated regularly to highlight what’s new and interesting
  • Categories screen: Find the Worlds you are looking for by subject

I love how Wikitude integrates with BBM, allows you to see the world in a different view, and look with new vision: AR Vision. You’ll find places and see what others are saying and discovering around you.

If you have Wikitude installed, be sure and open BlackBerry App World, go to My World and refresh to find your update.

If you haven’t given Wikitude a spin, be sure grab it here from BlackBerry App World:
