QNX-Powered Smartphone OS to be branded BBX (BlackBerry X)?

October 4, 2011 | By | 1 Comment

As the BlackBerry Developer’s Conference approches later this month, it is expected we will get a look at RIM’s upcoming QNX-powered Smartphone operating system. The QNX OS will be similar to the “Tablet OS” which is currently found on their PlayBook tablet. The latest rumor of the block is that RIM plans to introduce the QNX-powered OS for smartphones as BBX (or BlackBerry X). Rather than calling it BlackBerry OS 8. Personally I think this is an absolute great way for RIM to rebrand their smartphones as the new Ultra Powerful platform, and truly show QNX’s potential. With any luck we will get a sneak peak at the upcoming BBX OS platform and hardware during DevCon 2011 later this month. Stay tuned for updates!
