BlackBird is a Twitter client for the BlackBerry PlayBook and is available in the BlackBerry App World. When BlackBird first came out, it lacked a few features that were under construction, but let’s look at what the latest update has to offer…
BlackBird is available in the BlackBerry App World for $1.99. When it first came out, many of the features didn’t work. This latest update provides all the access to the features but one: Lists. It still says Coming Soon. But all the other features: All Tweets, New Tweet, Mentions, Direct Messages, Search, Trends, Profiles, and Settings all work.
Here’s what I like about BlackBird. One, it’s name reminds me of the Beatles song. Two, it’s bright and nice layout. I like how on the Tweet it’s very clear and on Direct Messages you can choose Sent and Received to read. Also on All Tweets you can Reply, choose as a Favorite, or Retweet now. Those are the pro’s of the app. Many of those weren’t there when the app first came out.
Here’s what I’d like to see in the app.I’d love to see the ability to add a picture or video. The BlackBerry PlayBook takes outstanding pictures and videos, it’s one of the things I love to share! I’d like to see my list of followers and who I follow (I’m guessing this will be in Lists). When making a Tweet, if the names start coming up after the @ it would help, I know I’m one of those Tweeters who is used to having that convenient option. Those are two things I’d like to see which aren’t currently there.
The one thing that makes BlackBird nice is the ability to add more than one Twitter account into the app.
