Want BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on your Desktop? Fixmo Opens Public Beta.
Back a couple years ago, I wished we would get a BBM client for desktop computers. RIM pretty much said it’ll never happen. But that hasn’t stopped the talented team over at Fixmo from designing a new app which allows you to use your BBM from your desktop. It’s in very early beta, but works with any computer using a web browser. Follow the instructions below to get started…
To get started with Fixmo Web Messenger:
- Download the mobile App to your device at http://fwm.fixmo.com:8080/WebMessenger.jad
- Open the mobile App and create a new account with your email address and a password more than 8 characters, this is needed to log in to your BBM
- Click on Connect
- Now go to Fixmo Web Messenger Download | Fixmo Inc. and enter your login information there.
- Click on Connect on the web interface and you should be ready to use BlackBerry Messenger from your desktop.
Now as we said this is really early beta and still needs some work, but its a very neat idea from Fixmo. You can discuss the public beta over at CB Forums. We should point out that it may not work with some devices on BES. It also may be slow when using a 3G connection, instead of Wi-Fi. Give it a shot and let us know what you think by posting a comment below!
