Video: Android Apps Running on PlayBook via Android App Player
Just a few weeks ago, RIM made the announcement that the BlackBerry Tablet OS will have the potential to run Android apps on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. This is done basically by Android app developers porting their Apps into BlackBerry App World. Once the apps have been approved into App World then users will be able to download an Android App Player and run any of the approved Android apps. Yesterday at BlackBerry World 2011, RIM demoed their upcoming Android App Player by running well known apps like IMDB, a basic Piano app, and even showed some really cool apps like Pulse – which will be coming soon via the Android to BlackBerry process. Check out the video above curiosity of CrackBerry which shows off this really cool feature for PlayBook owners! The Android App Player for the BlackBerry PlayBook is expected to be available later this summer.
So who’s excited for the possibility of having up to 200,000 more apps (via Android) on the PlayBook?
