Staples Recall: RIM Recalls Over 900 16 GB BlackBerry PlayBook Tablets

Engadget posted an exclusive of the recall. It appears it’s only a batch of 16 GB PlayBook tablets, but nonetheless they’re on recall. It’s not uncommon to have a bad batch of products, and the vendor sends back the stock listed from the store back to the manufacturer. Check it out…

The consumers who purchase the electronic devices (as with cell phones) usually aren’t informed of the recall, not unless they come in with issues. The faulty product will then be replaced. The great news is that Engadget has the list of the Serial Numbers so we have listed them for you to check and see if you were one of the ones on the list. The notice was to Staples, but there could be others from other vendors. Just remember that this is 935 pertaining to Staples so far. Let’s hope it’s only Staples. I wouldn’t worry about the product and hope that it’s not something the press has a field day with because it does happen and it’s rarely publicized, concerning different manufacturers. At least the manufacturers catch the issue and notify the vendors to correct it.

So here’s the list, let us know if any of you find your devices on there. If it is, and you’re having issues, don’t hesitate to see your local Staples store. If it’s on there and you aren’t having issues, you might just be okay. There’s no reason as to the recall given, so who knows why they’re being recalled. To find your Serial Number, it’s on the box and also if you pull down the menu from the top of your PlayBook and go to About and click, you can find the Serial Number. Good luck…
