BlackBerry PlayBook is NOT compatible with Mac Desktop Software… Yet.

For my day to day work I use my Macbook Pro, and when I received my BlackBerry PlayBook the first thing I wanted to do with sync it up, and upload music, pictures and videos. Well after looking everywhere and speaking with RIM, I can confirm that the BlackBerry PlayBook is not currently compatible with the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac OS X. But RIM did confirm that they do have a version coming out very shortly, but exact timeframe couldn’t be given. This just seems to be one of the many little things that are delayed for the PlayBook. The latest version as of today (April 19th) is BlackBerry Desktop Software v2.0.1.14 which was released on 4/14/2011. So for now it looks like many PlayBook owners will either have to use Mass Storage via USB, or sync with a PC.
