I’ve reviewed Fixmo Tools before, and now with the latest version packed with even more utility applications (17) I had to do another review to show our readers the ultimate in utility apps for your BlackBerry. Fixmo Tools is normally $14.99 in the BlackBerry Sync Store, but for a limited time it’s on sale for only $9.99! Check it out…
Fixmo Tools v2.0 contains the following 17 tools:
- Mail Compliance Manager
- Forward/Reply With Edit
- Meet Me
- Battery Watch
- Memory Monitor
- SMS Recovery
- Call Indicator
- WiFi File Transfer
- WiFi Media Backup
- Remote Print
- Remind Me Later
I’m going to walk you through the apps and how they work. This tool box makes everything more convenient that it completes your BlackBerry to perfection. I’m going to show you through the apps which work for BlackBerry OS 4.6 and up.
Undelete allows you to recover emails that have been accidentally deleted. It’s like your phone’s recycling bin. You are able to recover your deleted email, PIN messages, calendar events, tasks, and memos. You are also able to use undelete from the menu in the messages as well.
Wifi File Transfer works if you have wifi enabled. I don’t use my wifi but it does allow you to transfer files from your phone if you have wifi enabled.
Silencer allows you to silence your calls and this can be really beneficial. It watches your calendar and silences your smartphone during meetings. You can also auto-block certain calls such as 800 numbers and private/unknown numbers. Use Quick Silencer for in a hurry, when and how long. This feature is a great one to have even allowing you to create one of your convenience keys for Silencer.
Memo is another cool feature. It’s like using sticky notes on the front screen of your BlackBerry homescreen. You save notes on the homescreen background. It allows you to Import Calendar, Import Memo, Activate it if you’re going to use it, and Deactivate when not needing it, Set Note Size, Set the font, and Set Background.
Wifi Media Backup is another neat feature if you have wifi enabled. From here you can Send Files Now, File Browser, Media Server Settings, Remove Selected File, Remove All Files,Add All Photos, Add All Videos, Add All Voicenotes, Settings Screen, and Shutdown.
Remote Print is a great app for your BlackBerry. To use it to print from your BlackBerry, there’s an application that you need to install on your personal computer first. It allows you to enter your email address to get instructions on how to download the free PC application.
Mail Compliance Manager is one of my fave apps from the Utility app. It filters possible inappropriate language from your emails, warns you if you accidentally add unintended e-mail recipients and helps you keep others off your emails. This includes repeated punctuation, capitals, and unintended recipients such as if you were sent an email that was bcc’d and you are ready to answer, it will save you from saying something out of line.
Meet Me allows you to email and set up meetings and automatically insert those times you have available to meet.
Memory Monitor is a great fave app too. It shows your available RAM, your Device Memory, allows you to clear the cache, and my personal favorite; Details in a wheel diagram of Ram and Memory.
Battery Watch shows how much your battery is charged, and has Manage Connections tab, allows you to set allert settings. and view the Battery Monitor details which includes remaining Talk Time, Internet, Standby, Audio, and Video time along with the voltage and the Battery Temperature.
Remind Me Later lets you set reminders from your Contacts, Call Log, and Messages right into your Calendar or Tasks.
SMS Recovery is just as you thought…it’s the recovery tool for your texts, both incoming and outgoing. It also allows you to recover them as an email to your inbox.
Speedtest measures the download and upload speeds of your 3G, EDGE, and WiFi networks.
Screenshot allows you to take a Screenshot from the current screen and is also accessible from the menu in the BlackBerry menu.
Multi Clipboard allows you to copy and paste multiple items, including standard texts.
Forward Reply with Edit is another one of my favorites. It’s installed and ready to go. You can find it in your email/messages menu: Foward with Edit, Reply with Edit, and Reply to All with Edit. It really makes it easy for you to reply or forward and clean it up. Especially when you don’t want to include all the addresses and unnecessary nonsense.
Call Indicator lets you decide the LED blink color and speed so you get notified when getting a phone call. You don’t have to have the classic red LED for a call.
This has been one of my fave apps since it came out, now even more so. Anyone can find use in this application from the average BlackBerry user who uses email and texts to the college student and business professional who needs to have those shortcuts.
CONS: It would be nice to be able to hide or install only the apps you would actually use or find beneficial to you. That was the only con I could find within the app.
PROS: So many apps are included it’s just an all around utility you really can use and justify. With all the apps it has, the entire app is a pro.
I highly recommend this application if you find you could use the apps within it. If you have Fixmo Tools already, please share your insight.
