Could it really be? Will the PlayBook have 4,000 apps ready at launch? Reuters had a chance to sit down with RIM’s own Jeff McDowell (senior VP for business and platform marketing) who had some interesting things to say. Not only did he talk about the BlackBerry Balance solution, but McDowell had some interesting things to say about the PlayBook. Apparently RIM plans to have 4,000 apps ready for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet at launch by March. Besides that he compared the battery life on the PlayBook to be equal or greater than Apple’s current battery life.
“It’s going to be equal or greater than the iPad with smaller battery size,” he said.
RIM expects to have some 4,000 third-party apps available for the PlayBook’s launch, due by March, McDowell said.
If both these facts are true, then we are even more excited (if possible) for the PlayBook’s launch. Sadly it doesn’t look like the BBSync App Store will be supported on the PlayBook at launch…
