First Pics of Next-Gen BlackBerry Curve “Sedona” Leaked!

We first saw renders of the next generation BlackBerry Curve earlier in the week, and now for the first time ever we are seeing actual live pics of the next-gen Curve code-named “Sedona”. As previously reported this model is very thin, about half the size of the Bold 97xx series. It will rock a new EM-1 battery, which is thin and powerful. The next-generation BlackBerry Curve will also run a slightly updated OS, BlackBerry 6.1, which keeps that familiar look of OS 6.0, but brings some extra little goodies, including a cooler notification bar that drops down in every application to notify you of new messages. At this point the device is said to still be pretty unstable and isn’t ready for the prime times just yet. Other specs include 512MB of RAM, a much higher resolution screen than current devices, and this model appears to be a CDMA/GSM device, which means we could technically see it launch on Verizon and/or Sprint.

What do you think of RIM’s thin entry level BlackBerry Curve? Personally, I can’t help but think of the old school BlackBerry 8800 series every time I see it. Now if only we could see some hands-on shots of BlackBerry Dakota
