UPDATE (Oct 28): Looks like its back up to regular price ($49.95)

A couple days ago we tweeted that Tether for BlackBerry was on sale for 50% off. Well today I’ve decided to post up a quick reminder that its still on sale just in case anyone didn’t grab a copy. Normally Tether costs $49.95, however it seems to be on 50% off for a limited time. This means you can start using your existing BlackBerry data plan to tether your BlackBerry for a one time fee of $24.97. Head over to the BBSync Store if you want to pick up a copy.

Features of Tether:

  • Internet Anywhere: You can use Tether anywhere you can make phone calls.
  • Easy Setup: Download our software to your BlackBerry and another for your laptop… Then surf the web and email just like you would with any Internet connection.
  • Fast Speeds: Download speeds that are impressive. Our users download at speeds up to 1,800 kbps.
  • No Tethering Fees: Tether uses your phone’s data plan and we do not charge tethering fees. (refer to our Terms of Service) (Note that significant charges may apply for data usage if not on an unlimited data plan. Please check with your carrier.)
  • All BlackBerries: Tether is compatible with all BlackBerries.
  • All Carriers: Tether has been used by carriers all over the world. Some carriers do require APN settings, though. It appears our product does not work on the iDen Network.
  • PC & Mac: Tether works on both PCs and Macs.

Am I missing something? Why woul anyone spend that kind of money for something BBDM already does for free? Do some carriers charge for tethering using DM?

Some carriers don’t allow you to use the DTM internet tethering. Tether for BB allows you to use your BlackBerry Internet Service data plan, and not occur any additional charges. Up to you, but I still say its a great product.
