Firefox Home Is In The Works For BlackBerry Devices

Currently Firefox Home is available to the iPhone. According to the Mozilla Mobile Blog, they will be coming out with a BlackBerry platform in the coming months. Keep in mind that this is Firefox Home and not the Firefox browser. What is Firefox Home?
Firefox Home is a free cloud-based application that allows you access to your Firefox desktop, history, and tabs right from your phone. So if you were looking at a map or video in Firefox at home, and you leave and wanted to go back to that map or video, you can do it from Firefox Home.
The plans are to include more data and social functionality to Firefox Home on your device. And will include:
- Synchronize passwords to your phone so you don’t have to type them in anymore.
- Better integrate with new iOS4 features and other native applications (such as Youtube, Maps, Mobile Safari etc.)
- Bring other Firefox customizations such as search engine preferences.
- Bring your Firefox Panorama settings and tab groups to your phone.
- Some of our more experimental features will allow you to easily share links, reviews and comments with your friends on
- Twitter, Facebook or other social networks directly from Firefox Home.
- Build the ability to provide feedback and get help with any issues directly from within Firefox Home.
I wish it were the browser, though I know it’s been mentioned in the mobile blog before that they don’t have plans for a BlackBerry Firefox browser as of yet. Chrome and Firefox are my two browsers I prefer. Hopefully at some point they will decide to include the browser with Firefox Home, but only time will tell.
