Unboxing the BlackBerry Torch 9800 & First Impressions

That’s right! I’ve gotten my hands on the BlackBerry Torch 9800, the first full QWERTY and touch screen smartphone from RIM. The BlackBerry Torch is set to go on sale with AT&T in just a few days (August 12th) and until then we’ve got a ton of feedback to give you. First off I’ve uploaded a brief unboxing video of the Torch. I’m usually not one for doing videos, but I felt this was a special occasion. I know its not the best quality, but you get the idea.

First impressions of the device are pretty good. The slider feels great, BlackBerry 6 seems to flow smooth, overall no real complaints. I am having a hard time getting use to an actual touchscreen, without the SurePress clicking (found in the Storm series). Other than that I’m going to let it charge up and use it for the next few days before commenting too much… I will say the body feels very solid (including the slider) but I hate where the charger port is located. I’ll post more soon about the device.

    How long do you think it’ll take everyone to develop apps and accessories for it, without actually having to purchase them through AT&T or Blackberry. I love it, just guess I’ll have to wait for everyone else to get on board.

    Hi all, I am from Malaysia, I am currently using Blackberry Bold 9700, I had one Bold 9000 before, to me, this piece of phone is amazing, I just love it. Lots of people ask me to try on Iphone, I had a look on Iphone, it’s just my cup of tea. It is only for those who likes gaming, and not really active in business usage. I own an Ipad, I like it , but not iPhone. I m&a a businessman, to me SMS and email is very very important.

    I personally support RIM from top to toe! Can any one tell me that whether the new bold has a stylus on it, can we write on the screen just like the HTC? It will be great if the phone allow us to write on the screen by using the stylus.

    Can any one tell me when the phone will arrive at Malaysia? Wating is a painful process! Don’t you agree? I will pray day and night, hopefully this piece of wonderful phone will arrive at Malaysia very very soon!
