OS Update v5.0.0.732 Available For Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650

The Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650 has an update available. It can be done through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, BlackBerry Web Loader, or through the Bold itself for the Over The Air update. There are fixes and enhancements included in this update and both RIM and Verizon are strongly recommending that you update your software. What’s included with the software? Check it out…

The update includes the following-

Enhancements:


Better group Push to Talk functionality1-
Multiple enhancements to group Push to Talk calls, contacts,

and audio performance.

Improved text messaging-
Improved viewing of text-messaging threads.
Enhanced playback for picture/video messages with audio-
When opening and listening to a picture/video message with

audio, receiving a text message with a notification ringtone will

not affect the audio attachment’s playback.

More responsive text-message icon-
The text-message icon will register unread messages and

disappear once you have read the messages.

More stable global capability-
Your Bold will connect and stay connected to a 3G network in

Global Mode when available.

Improvements:
  • Using the End key to turn off your Bold will now display a

    confirmation prompt.

  • Your Bold will only reset when you prompt it to regardless of

    idle time, coverage availability, or use of applications (such as

  • the camera).

If you have the Verizon Bold 9650, please update now. You can update online using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager or the Web Loader. You can update on the handset itself by going to Options/Advanced Options/Wireless Update and clicking on next and follow the prompts. It took mine a while since it first has to download, then backup your phone, then install. It took approximately an hour and a half.
