Mobilicity launches in Toronto – Brings Unlimited Everything and BlackBerry Bold 9700…

Another new Canadian wireless network has launched, and this one is taking aim at everyone, including Wind Mobile. Mobilicity launched in Toronto this morning with the goal of bringing truly unlimited everything to Canada. Mobilicity offers 6 different plans with 6 different devices, including the popular BlackBerry Bold 9700. Mobilicity offers a $65/month plan which offers unlimited global text messaging, unlimited voice, unlimited long distance to anywhere in North America, plus unlimited BIS data. Another thing to note is Mobilicity doesn’t offer contracts, therefore you will be paying $499 for the Bold 9700. We imagine they’ll pick up the Pearl 3G in the near future as well. Last thing to point out… Mobilicity’s network runs on AWS similar to Wind Mobile, therefore your current BlackBerry won’t work. If you want more details on their network head over to mobilicity.ca.

    I bought a phone and got a plan under false pretenses that I was to be provided service in a covered area. I am right in the middle of their supposed coverage area and I have to re connect to the network every 2 – 3 minutes. I brought my phone back for a replacement and the lady was outside trying to connect to the mobilicity network. This company is NOT ready to provide the service, they should NOT be selling phones to anyone!
