BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS 5.0.0.654 Leaked!

And finally BlackBerry Curve 8530 users can rejoice, because a new leaked OS has arrived. The latest is OS 5.0.0.654, which comes our way curiosity of GizmoFusion. We haven’t heard any reviews of .654 for the Curve 8530 as of yet, but feel free to give it a try! Just remember that this is not an official OS, and it has been leaked before obtaining final testing. It’s not recommended you install this OS if you have no previous knowledge of installing leaked OS’ before. However if you do decide to install it please make sure you do a full backup, before proceeding.

    HIGHLY recommended update. It has by far improved the speed of my 8530 even from new in Feb. 2010, and I’ve gone through a half-dozen updates since then.

    The only thing I didn’t like losing was the Bing search function with Voice Search, but the Google version is multitudes faster.

    There is nothing wrong in this update that I’ve really noticed so far.

    I hate it! Simple things (like the way you lock your phone) have changed. What a silly thing to waste time on, in my opintion. I am actually going to try and go back to the old OS.

    Updated my 4 month old BB 8530. Annoying update & don’t notice any difference in performance. Took away the padlock icon & easy lock feature totally. Also changed the email ‘TO…CC…” sections – now automatically sets up two(2)’TO’ & one (1)’CC’ – any extra lines not needed can no longer be deleted.

    The day BEFORE update tho’ I noticed a weird new box on ph call screen to the immediate left of the vertical volume control icon. It will disappear when speaker is activated & does not appear to have any functionality. Anyone else? Did not install any games, apps, etc- it showed up on the next auto bootup @ 6am.
