We all know that part of the BlackBerry experience is the BlackBerry Messenger. For me, I only use BBM and Google Talk. But what if there were a messenger that could bridge us all together across our devices? LuciD hopes to do just that, as it’s currently availble for download for iPhone and is in the Android Marketplace.
LuciD is available and works on iPhones, iPads, and Androids, and soon BlackBerry devices too. Send messages to friends, make chat groups of up to 30 friends, share files and images, and use nationally and internationally. It’s a way to let you communicate to over 80 million smartphones. Check out the pdf LuciD handout here.
I like the idea of communicating all together. I love BBM, I don’t know if I would LuciD though I might try it. It would be great for those who decide to “defect” to another device, but you want to stay in touch with your BlackBerry friends. I’ll be curious to see what LuciD has to offer, and how it compares to BBM.
LuciD is in the final stages of development for the BlackBerry. If you are interested in testing out the current messenger, the site lists for you to contact Lucid at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and BlackBerry model. You can read more on LuciD on the LuciD website here.
