LaterDude Pro By Fabian Has Been Updated To v3.0.2! Update Now, Don’t Wait Till Later!

Fabian has some great apps, and LaterDude Pro is one of them. So great that it was nominated for Best Utility App of 2009! LaterDude Pro is available in the BlackBerry Sync Store, and if you have it, we highly recommend you update your software and here’s why…

I really like the apps that integrate with my BlackBerry and this is one of those apps. From the BlackBerry Sync Store, here’s the description for our readers who haven’t heard of it.

LaterDude Pro is an application that reminds you to call, SMS or email someone. The efficiency of it is that it interacts with the system and creates a new event into the internal calendar or task application.
After installation, LaterDude Pro is available for use on your device. The new version has an icon for easier access.
You click on Menu -> Later, Dude! to access the application.
If you are in the following applications then you can invoke the currently selected entry:
  • Call Log
  • Messages/email Application
  • SMS Application
  • Address Book List
From these 4 applications you can select an entry to directly get its contents imported into the fields of LaterDude Pro.
For example if you want to get notified tomorrow that you have to contact your Doctor, you go into the Address Book, scroll to your Doctor’s entry, press Menu -> Later, Dude! to set up a call-back reminder. The phone number and name is then already set in the LaterDude Pro application.

And it works just exactly as it says it does. So what’s new in the update? Quite a bit, check it out:

  1. When you create a new Calendar Event or Task via LaterDude Pro, you get to use the standard input screen for creating a new PIM Entry. Through that you can simply edit all the necessary infos for each Event you create.
  2. The reminder time for the Event you set up is always set to 1 min. Through that it does not interfere with any calendars you sync your device with and you don’t have to change the default reminder time like you had to do in the previous versions.
  3. It includes a Tell-A-Friend screen so that you can spread the word about LaterDude Pro easier
  4. The standard length for an event created with LaterDude Pro is now 10 min
  5. The subject of an email can be set as the subject of the Calendar Event or Task
  6. When you set an event from the Messages, it does not automatically preselect the ‘email’ keyword.
  7. You can add a custom keyword (next to the Call, SMS, eMail, Contact and Meet keywords)
  8. The day of the week will get displayed in the Dialog where you can quick-select the time and date for each Event or Task
  9. Many other small bugs were fixed

Basic features of the app are:

  • Create fast call-back or follow-up reminders
  • Raises your efficient working experience
  • Saves a lot of Time
  • Don’t ever forget to contact someone back

There are some key notes to remember about LaterDude Pro that Fabian has listed, and those are:

  1. Set the Application Permissions: Go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> LaterDude Pro -> Menu -> Set Permissions -> Set all to Allow -> Reboot the device (battery-pull).
  2. Read the User Manual at bit dot ly slash LaterDudePro
  3. The application does work on the BlackBerry Tour but RIM has to udpate the Tour-OS so that it works from the Call Log aswell. Everywhere else the application does work.
  4. Enter the registration code in the trial version of the app to register it. Menu -> Register. The app is found in the Downloads folder.
  5. If you update from a previous version, please read the email that you received when the application was updated. Everything is explained in there.

Now you would think an app like this might run quite a bit, but you get all this in a pro version for only $2.95 in the BlackBerry Sync Store! Now if you have the app, please go sign in to your BlackBerry Sync App Store account online or in your Mobile Super Store and download the update that way. You will be given a new code for the new version, so be sure to delete the old one, restart and download and install the new. And as always, we recommend a battery pull after installation.
