IDC announces Top 10 Smartphones in Q4 for USA – BlackBerry Takes 5/10 spots!

The IDC has announced their list of top 10 selling smartphones for Q4 2009. Guess what is number one? BlackBerry, of course. RIM took 5 of the 10 available spots in top selling smartphones to include BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, Bold, Storm, and Tour. I’ve been getting these reports for a while now, and I seem to recall the BlackBerry Curve leading the way. This could only be a sign of great things in 2010. Continue reading to see the top 10…
Here’s the IDC’s list of Top 10 Selling Smartphones:
1. RIM – BlackBerry Curve
2. Apple – iPhone 3G S
3. Motorola – DROID
4. Apple – iPhone 3G
5. RIM – BlackBerry Pearl
6. RIM – BlackBerry Bold
7. RIM – BlackBerry Storm
8. Palm – Pre
9. RIM – BlackBerry Tour
10. T-Mobile – myTouch 3G
RIM was also so happy they released this short statement:
“With the BlackBerry brand occupying 5 of the top 10 smartphone models, it is clear that RIM continues to have the broadest and most popular range of smartphones for different customers in the United States. RIM has shipped over 75 million smartphones to date, including a record 10 million smartphones during its latest quarter alone.”
