It was a given that BlackBerry would sponsor their tour, and it should say Proudly Presents. Especially with Will.I.Am and his “Hit Me On My BlackBerry”. I can’t say it’s a surprise since they have the energy and the music to electrify any audience. While I love U2 dearly, I have to admit they were blown away by their opening act. I’ve got a feeling that this Tour is going to be a Great Tour. Check it out…
BlackBerry Loves U2 was a suspenseful hype, but when it came to the shows there wasn’t much of RIM to be seen. A small booth and a few banners. Some commercials as well, and of course the U2 Mobile Album app from the BlackBerry App World, which fell short of expectations and hasn’t been updated in a quite a while.
I love U2, I love their music, however…when we went to the U2 Concert I was blown away by the opening act. The Black Eyed Peas opened and the energy filled the air. They had an amazing show and I have to give RIM kudos for sponsoring such a great band. By the time U2 came out, everyone was pumped, but the energy wasn’t the same. It was the first time I’d seen either in concert and I was really surprised, especially to see an opening band steal the show. And we don’t need to question what phone Will.I.Am keeps as his phone. I’m looking forward to the tour and hope we’ll see a music app from them come out that will be updated and just as captivating as they are.
What do you think of RIM/BlackBerry sponsoring the Black Eyed Peas? We want to know. I’m excited and looking forward to see what’s in the works.
