Review: HeartChick By NinjaThemes, Customize Yours Today!

January 27, 2010 | By | 4 Comments

NinjaThemes has presented a variety of themes for different BlackBerry devices, and today I am reviewing his latest, HeartChick. It’s a fun Valentines theme for women. Set in red, and a fun sexy chick for the front screen, HeartChick brings fun and fashion into play, ready to dress your BlackBerry.

When I first saw this theme, it reminded me of the “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” movie. The HeartChick looks like Jessica Rabbit in a way, the sexy seductive cartoon vixen. And of course, being honored as part of the testing group, I’m able to bring it to you within hours of its release. The HeartChick is available in the BlackBerry Sync App Store and is on sale for $3.99 and you can have this theme customized in your name! You can own this theme.

The description of the theme is as follows:

Just in time for Valentine’s! Treat yourself or your girl to the Heart Chick theme from Ninja Themes. Best part? FREE Homescreen wallpaper customization – You can have any text on it. I downloaded and installed this theme on my BlackBerry Tour 9630. It installed easily and always follow with a battery pull. The theme is easy to activate and right away you can notice the color change.

The front screen is a zebra looking background of black with white stripes. The dark haired girl sits with a tight red and black bodice and the word Sexy in red is right next to her. The icons and the top ribbon are red. There are five customizable icons, four to the left of the girl, one to the right. The one could be for weather or for an app like Super QWERTY. The fonts are fun too, and enhance the theme.

Bringing up the menu of icons, they are all familiar and easy to figure out, they sit in a lighter red so it’s very easy on the eyes. Going into messages, the highlight is the lighter red, the menu is black and the red highlight in the menu is dark to light from bottom to top. The BlackBerry Browser when opened has a white background with black fonts. They’re a little tiny, but legible. The Download folder has the icons outlined in red which looks very nice and even Pandora is in red. Same way with Applications. Notifiers appear as a little red heart, alerting you when you have a new message.

Now when someone calls, you see the zebra background but when it connects, our HeartChick sits on the moon as a cowgirl. This is so cute. When you lock the phone, the HeartChick is there, but the screen displays “This Baby Is Locked” in red instead of Sexy.

Fun and definitely feminine, this theme is perfect for Valentines and even after.

PROS: Fun, unique, and is for both young teens and moms alike. You can have it customized with your name even. So it’s definitely more a theme you can make just for you.

CONS: Not many since we worked out the bugs while testing. Maybe that the fonts are a bit small in the Browser, but other than that, it’s fun and spirited.
